They really making Christine again? FFS.

I hope they keep this classic line if they do:

(Talking about Arnie's sandwich bag), '****. Why doesn't it say ****?'

haha,Buddy Repperton. yeah ther doin it again.heard its a late 70s Camaro this time. The original 57 Plymouth Fury would be my dream lottery car.
Ha, that quote has come out all wrong! It should say 'Cnutingham'.

They should leave the film alone.

I have a scale model of Christine, with lights that light up. Got it from that model shop in the trafford centre years ago for about £60. It's fucking great, but yeah I think i'd look to buy a real one if I won the lotto.

You should hold on to that model, fetches over £100 easy on ebay, rare these days.I remember being in forbidden planet in town years back they had one for £25 but went for an 18" Jason Voorhees instead, should have got the Christine.

Sadly, my son got hold of it some years ago, and lets just say it wouldn't get £100 now!

Honestly thought it was great, not as good as the Christopher Nolan's masterpiece 'The Dark Knight' but for me it wasn't far off. As others have mentioned it does have a few flaws
The tornado/Kevin Costner scene is silly, why didn't Clark just save the dog in the first place?
for my tastes though I really enjoyed it. I haven't watched any other Superman films from the past to compare but I doubt this could be topped. Some of the visuals were mind-blowing too at times I thought. Henry Cavil was relatable and likable, which is a fine-line with these sort of monumental roles and the rest of the cast were pretty good too. Once again Hans Zimmer nails the soundtrack, say no more.

Lots of people seem to have issues with the pacing of the film but it flowed just fine for me. Really enjoyed it can't understand the amount of criticism it's getting, there have been far much worse films in recent years with similar budgets. 8/10 for me.

Interesting to view the opposite ends of grading on here. Some are clearly action first, story second film goers and vice versa for the others.

I liked the new direction; more of Krypton, more of Jor El's skills as a leader, a throw away message about resources and the dichotomy of Kal El/ Supe's handling of life. Bit like a boy scout earning merit badges but with super strength!

I think most of this was missed in the mish-mash of a (non) story (until Gen Zod turned up) because the scenes were so frenetic. You also had to ask how the fook did Supes and Lois manage to find whatever tangible connection in that chaos, cos there just wasn't the time!

So apart from the obvious already mentioned, the one not mentioned was the harking back to the old 'American Hero' polava. Someone mention this as 'a modern re-telling', well not quite as the MODERN adaptation has Supes recognising that he could have landed anywhere on the planet, really, so by that virtue he protects the world not just the States.

Shame they wimped out of this angle for a more universal appeal.

I went to see this on Sunday. Disappointed really, they tried to fit too much into one film so it was like a mish mash of original superman and superman II. I know it would have lasted 4 hours if they had done it properly but just didn't work for me. Thought Cavill and Shannon were really good though. Some very impressive effects too.

Ii think i'd have had a first film mainly set on Krypton with a time shift to earth to show superman growing up. The film could have concentrated on Krypton and its destruction then set up the next film nicely.

It is a lot to ask though as Superman is a very difficult superhero, he's pretty flawless where Batman and Spiderman have flaws and faults Superman by his very nature is invincible so not as accessible to the viewer.

But that's what I kind of like about the Supes character; no matter how hard he tries to fit in, he doesn't and can never because of his almost invincible power(which is why Bats has his distrust; super human with human emotional frailties? Bad combo!).

But I fully agree that the film should have been split into two.

hes a fisherman in this trailer and hitch hiking!

anyway, this is the film ive been waiting for, dark and moody superman

Unfortunately will never happen Superman by virtue is good and cannot do bad. He is also one of the only superhero who NEVER kills humans.

Superman has killed before

Thought it was a brilliant film, however 3 things stood out to me, which I'd rather they hadn't as they are failry trivial.

- howcome the ship that had his suit on was conviently sent 20,000 years earlier? Yes, the symbol means "hope" but wasn't it also the symbol of his family? I'm sure they all had different symbols?
- why does he have muscles? I'm no expert but I believe muscles grow through tearing and repairing? what did he use as weights to tear his invincible muscles?
- why were they hitting each other with steel girders? surely that's like me being pissed at someone and throwing a Quaver at them?

I have no idea why I thought of these things.

He does not and has never killed a human not in any of the films (haven't seen the new one) but definitely not in any comic.

I think the suit is built by the ship when the key Clark has is inserted into the ship.
He's an alien so his metabolism will be different and so will the way his body grows I assume.
Agree with the Quavers thing but at the end of the day you have to suspend reality at some point otherwise they would just be stood toe to toe like boxers until one gives up or dies.

It's just a film about flying aliens it's not real.

The last comment ruined your answer.

I knew this was going to be crap and it didn't fail to deliver. There was to much background story that lead to the main storyline jumping all over the bloody place and becoming disjointed.

Then you had superman constantly getting the knocked fuck to the flour. No wonder the **** had big muscles the twat was always doing press up to pick himself up. Honestly in the space of about 10 minutes he was lay flat on his belly and doing a press up while looking at the bad guy four or five times at least.

Superman Returns was better than this shit and that's saying something.

Interesting that you watched the film, but never absorbed the info ahead of your questions!

The ship? Merely a hint that Krypton was already way ahead of Earth's development which is why they mentioned 'scout ships' quite a lot!

The symbol is the family house crest. You saw different crests on the chest of other Kryptonians if you looked.

The muscles; Jor El already explained the impact of the different atmos to his wife before they sent Kal El off. As he is still humanoid, he can still train(and it doesn't have to be on screen) and the effects of muscle tear would be the same as his strength developed(just remember how he struggled with the oil rig at first).

And ffs, he's NOT invincible!! His mass is different due to the sun's radiation. Something of mass with the right/ equal exertion can still pound him/ knock him off his feet/ whatever you want to insert here.

That is all.
