Tbh the Leicester fans were all saying the same thing about Riyad when he played at their place. They used to call him the 1 in 4 player. Although, it was often muted that had he turned up every week he would have been as good as anybody ever in the Prem. I believe them too.

To be fair, I remember a lot of City fans (myself included) saying much the same about Samir Nasri after 2011/12. So much talent but so frustrating at times.

Phil Foden, his industry after the break was simply outstanding, the change of position made by Pep created this situation, pushing Bernardo wide, and giving Phil the freedom in the central areas, in time Phil Foden keeping his feet on the ground could become our best ever player

Fernandinho beginning to show his age, and caught in possession on more.than one occasion.
Aguero just can't into games, although he wasn't helped by the other substitutions last night, which were purely to save energy.

That wasn't age. That was high tempo pressing by Southampton, who gave us a good game and made us look quite sloppy.

But Samir had a lovely smile......... ;-) plus he used to give me a little wave when the players warmed up on our side of the dug outs!! (Small things mean a lot to us oldies!!! ;-)

Whose idea was it to swap sides for the warm up? I used to love it when the players warmed up near us, most of them were friendly. Love CL games as they still warm up our side then. :-)

I'm a big Foden fan, but he's had his quiet games recently, just like most of the others. Until today, he'd not really made a difference in any game since Liverpool.

I agree that he has had some quiet games but that is inevitable for any player. I think his energy and attitude are always worth having though. Opinions only though and we all know that only Pep’s opinion counts.

He's had quiet games because he hasn't started!

Since playing Liverpool where he stole the show we've had:

Swansea away - came off the bench in 66th minute
Spurs - played the full game
Everton - played the full game and scored
Arsenal - Benched
Monchengladbach - played 80 mins
West Ham - came off the bench in the 65th minute
Wolves - Benched
United - came off the bench in the 71st minute
Saints - played the full game and got two assists

I think it's fair to say it's hard to have a big impact when that is the run of games you've been offered. Pep is resting him for the business end of the season.
Wow, I'd lost track of how many games we've played since Liverpool! I was probably thinking of the Spurs and Monchengladbach games, in which he really didn't have much of an impact. He was great the other day, though, and I'm sure he'll play a big part in the games to come (the one's he plays in, at least!).
