Manager sack race 2017 / 2018

In terms of results Big Sam did a very good job.

The football was dire. He has no chance to succeed at most second level clubslike West Ham, Newcastle, Everton et al because he will be hounded out no matter what he does.

Good riddance to the dinosaurs. People like Fat Sam and Moyes have been part of the reason England teams have been a laughing stock for years. I don't accept the narrative that Moyes "did a good job" at Everton. For a club of their size they underachieved under him and played dire football. It's an insult to football fans who pay huge prices for tickets to endure the hoofball Allardyce and his pals have produced for years. The media love them but they don't have to pay for their tickets.

Sam may have suffered a bit like utd have with us. Their fans looking across the city and seeing the type of footy they want. I wonder if Everton fans would be so vociferous in their demands for a new manager had they finished above Liverpool.

I do think these merrygoround managers have had their day though with clubs looking to younger managers with different ideas now.

We can but hope. All the more pleasing that Pulis was stopped from bringing his pub football into the Prem last night by Villa. The only blot being that Colin will be infecting the game again next season.

As much as his old fashioned hoofball is derided BFS also does nothing to endear himself to supporters. He is just arrogant - things are done his way and no other. I remember when he was at West Ham and on MOTD as the game finished and they went down the tunnel there were boo's - the look of disdain he gave back over his shoulder that was caught on camera summed hum up. Didn't give a shit. At press conf's at Everton his approach was also the big I am just discarding any complaints from having any validity - he was Sam and he was right. Best bet for him is to go back to his Spanish villa.

so they really think there going to over take any of the 7 teams above them maybe bar Burnley over next few years not a chance the deluded fuckers

The general consensus being that supporters are fed up with just surviving, and want to see their teams actually entertain. Hence it's the end of the road for managers like Moyes, Allerdyce, Pulis, etc., with hopefully Warnock and Hughes following soon.

Of the three relegated clubs this year - Stoke, Swansea and West Brom - all have had managerial changes this season. Notice there is no clamour for managerial changes at Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Brighton, Burnley etc. There are some good young managers about, whose fan bases are not deluded by over-expectations.

Supporters of other teams are looking at us and asking why their teams cannot try to play in the same manner. Whilst there aren't enough flair players to go round, they could at least try and coach good technique.
