Manager sack race 2017 / 2018

i never will understand why clubs buy into managers like BFS and moyes and sparky what have they ever won as manager and sparky and moyes had 2 of the biggest clubs jobs in england and still fucked up and BFS england manager hahahaha

football is crazy now days and if you finish midtable or higher its still not good enough and the premier league has become a 6 team league and the rest just fight over staying up and making the most money and quickly as possible before you go down and starting again even the both cups in england are becoming stale and worthless in winning and with the prize money worth nothing to the winner and the clubs place in the europa league is the real target for the other 12 teams outside the top 6

we should have a youth academy for managers and let the young ex-players get a chance after learning the ropes at a championship or league football club how much worst could it be than moyes and BFS and sparky just milking the clubs and fans with empty promises. eddie howe must be given a top job next season and lets see how he can do with a bit more money and better players its a no brainer for me with a club like everton and west ham

The general consensus being that supporters are fed up with just surviving, and want to see their teams actually entertain. Hence it's the end of the road for managers like Moyes, Allerdyce, Pulis, etc., with hopefully Warnock and Hughes following soon.

Of the three relegated clubs this year - Stoke, Swansea and West Brom - all have had managerial changes this season. Notice there is no clamour for managerial changes at Huddersfield, Bournemouth, Brighton, Burnley etc. There are some good young managers about, whose fan bases are not deluded by over-expectations.

Supporters of other teams are looking at us and asking why their teams cannot try to play in the same manner. Whilst there aren't enough flair players to go round, they could at least try and coach good technique.
Agreed. It feels like a watershed moment for these types of managers. Even lower down the leagues, younger, progressive managers are finding success with a possession based style of play. Theres no room anymore for drab hoof-it football, unless your desperate to avoid relegation. Look at teams like Bristol City. Younger managers in the lower leagues are plowing a new furrow and I hope and expect to see a few of them in the bigger jobs soon.

If Everton think they can attract a manager and players who can produce beautiful football, they are deluded.
Same goes for Wham, tho' London mught help them.

I take it you never watched his Bolton team at their peak then. His biggest problem is he's got the reputation that Everton employed him for, saving teams from relegation. Everton may come to regret sacking him.

Allardyce left Bolton in April 2007, that’s over 11 years ago.

Things have moved on since then, and like the eye-gouging twat at the swamp, he is a managerial dinosaur nowadays.

And there's your problem right there. Every season there will be 8-10 clubs who will panic that they might go down and so employ the same few names who 'guarantee' to keep you up

madness. finished 8th. what did they expect ffs.
You do wonder what Everton fans actually want. They loved Moyes, who plays like Allardyce and never won anything. Martinez tried to play progressive football but they wanted him out. Koeman gets them into the Europa League, has a bad start to the following season and they want him gone. Allardyce cones in, finishes 8th and now they want him gone. Now it looks like they’re going to get that relegation specialist Marco Silva in. Let’s hope he stays true to form..
