Manc or not (Merged)

Re: Manc or not

NOT dublin born ,dad was/is a blue. However my heart and soul are blue and thats what counts.Besides i'm doing my best to be good in this life so that when i shuffle off i can be reincarnated as a mancunian

Re: Manc or not...(2)....

Was born in Nottingham to a Dad and family that all hail from Manchester, spent every weekend up there, might as well be a Manc. My accent's more Manc than midlands anyway.

Well, it used to be. Lived in the states a while now so its got a southern American twinge to it.

Sound like I've got a fucking speech impediment these days.

But I was raised a blue, and we have our contingent over here now, me, my dad, his cousin.

Re: Manc or not

Manc - Blue catholic Dad, Red protestant Mum, both season ticket holders. My dad said the two things he wouldn't compromise on were which football team I was to support, and my religion. All my mum got was to pick my name.

As long as you're blue it doesnt matter, my Grandad was a Scott and thats how I got into City, becasue he loved them I followed as did my dad.

If your chest swells with pride everytime you see a City shirt, if you feel a surge of immense satisfaction when City win a game and if you feel almost suicidal when we lose and they win - then you're a Blue.

Through to the core.

Top comment that just about sums up what it means to be a Blue - whether or not you were born here.

I'm Manchester born and bred and I have to say that reading all your posts makes me proud to have you as fellow supporters. In fact, I would think it's been easier for me over the years (I'm over 40!) to be a Blue because it was one choice or the other (although I'd have to say I didn't choose the easy option as all my family are rag supporters!). The fact that you all chose City when it would have been far easier to go for a more successful non-local team proves you're all made of the right stuff.

As for newbies - welcome aboard - you will be the foundation of our growing fanbase for the future, which is necessary to sustain our beloved club. The only thing I ask is that you show your support with decorum - don't be like the plastic supporters of other clubs who snigger and belittle other teams, who boast and brag - that to me is not being a fan and that's when you will be classed as a glory-hunter.

A similar topic has been raised before and my previous reply still stands...

Almost - Oldham, Alex Park. Moved to Blackpool with my parents as a kid. SC holder with a 100 mile round trip for home games and 4 PL clubs closer than Eastlands (Burnley, Blackburn, Wigan, Notlob)
