Manchester’s Changing Skyline

It`s been a good weekend for new tower cranes going up .

Yeah! Took a few pictures of the crane being assembled at Stay City, Deansgate.

Managed to get as far as Middlewood Locks and Salford on Sunday. The 2 chairs are still on the Middlewood Locks hill. Sat on one of them last Summer, whilst looking at the city centre skyline. Good to see they are still there, albeit 1 is damaged and both looked weathered.

3 different buildings about to be demolished, so new proposals can start this year.

I‘ll post the pictures tomorrow after I’ve been through them and photoshopped them.

The amount of wasteland and ghost car parks on that side of the city centre is insane. It’s going to take MCC and the Far East Consortium/FEC decades to redevelop it all.

Victoria Riverside construction drone update. Watch via the link.

This is a return to the Victoria riverside view apartment blocks that is being constructed along the railway approach to Victoria station in Manchester. Filmed late December 2023 it shows the progress the contractors have made with the exterior of the buildings.

I used to park literally where that tower has gone up. I remember them closing the car park - must have been 10 years ago. There used to be a traveller site over the rd and I see that has been cleared.

Most, if not all of the traveler sites around there have now been cleared for development.
