Manchester’s Changing Skyline

A little later than originally hoped.

4nr canopies complete with glass now installed at Renaker crown Street primary school.

Being nestled in between the Blade and Elizabeth Towers.
The strong wind tunnel provided less than ideal conditions for the lifting in of structural glass.

The vertical supports would look a lot better if they were flush with the top section. Don't look right.

Instead of all that concrete, why not plant some grass verges or areas of grass/ greenery?

True.

That wound cost annual maintenance. Property developers would rather include low maintenance outside areas within their developments.

Circle Square and Symphony Park are a great example of grass and greenery. It's a fantastic development.

I know what it’s about however I do think not everyone is all for everything being concreted over. Just my opinion.

TBF a lot of property developers in Manchester, especially Renaker and Salboy are creating interesting and exciting open spaces with plenty of trees, planting, and nice landscaping.

It would be great to see the council buy up some land a make a huge European style square/plaza in central Manchester and make sure it's well policed to keep out the piss heads and druggies.

I work there two days a week. It's a nice development but for some reason, doesn't feel quite as spectacular as the photos make it look.

Hopefully that will be the new Piccadilly Gardens when the council and their chosen architects eventually make the new plans for Piccadilly Gardens public. At least the concrete pavillion is now being redeveloped, and the grass areas have been returfed.
