Another positive progress update from the team at HBD in the form of spectacular imagery. Thank you Cartwright Pickard Pickard for sharing the pictures.

Island is coming together nicely as HBD continue to make progress on the 100,000 sq. ft net zero carbon building which will be one of Manchester's most sustainable office schemes.

A little later than originally hoped.

4nr canopies complete with glass now installed at Renaker crown Street primary school.

Being nestled in between the Blade and Elizabeth Towers.
The strong wind tunnel provided less than ideal conditions for the lifting in of structural glass.

Seven years in the making! A first glimpse at the new square at Portugal Street East in Manchester now that the hoardings have been removed.

Working alongside six different landowners, re-form has developed public realm proposals including two new spaces and four streets which knit together the emerging Piccadilly East district. The first phase includes the Leonardo Hotel, which opened early 2022, and the second phase will feature two residential schemes – Victoria House and The Castings – and the new public square, all due to be completed later this year.

The square will be ready late spring and will sit at the heart of the emerging neighbourhood, offering 24 new trees, amenity lawns and rain gardens all surrounded by seating clusters, catenary lighting, and generous paved spaces that will support ground floor spill out and activation from the surrounding developments.

We’ll be back on site in a few weeks to capture more photos once the grass is laid and the new trees are in leaf.
