Manchester Airport police assault trial | Man found guilty of assaulting two female police officers

At least the **** in blue got found guilty of three charges including ABH which should get him 5 years and hopefully a couple more if the judge goes for consecutive sentencing rather than concurrent.

Hopefully there’ll be a retrial with a jury who aren’t stupid.

I wonder whether the jury were influenced by the footage that everyone has seen of the police officer kicking the guy on the ground? Even though they were told to ignore it.

They weren’t told to ignore.it was the whole main basis of the defence.

A retrial ?
if the CPS did not submit it to court properly or worded the charges properly, that is the only way this charge is a no verdict, Video of the crime is clear, so it's got to be in the write-up of the charge
No offence. But that makes absolutely no sense at all. Cheers.

Count 2: Mohammed Fahir Amaaz and Muhammed Amaad are are charged with assaulting PC Zachary Marsden occasioning actual bodily harm

Verdicts: Mohammed Fahir Amaaz: NO VERDICT REACHED. Muhammed Amaad: NO VERDICT REACHED

How ? It's clear they attacked him

Difficult to know but it might be a combo of the rather quick laying on hands and what the jury thought an appropriate reaction to that might be if a person was unaware it was a copper and/or saw it as an attack. I mean I’m not sure if I buy the defence arguments on this myself but I can see how some people thought the cops could and should have done something differently.

They should have been influenced by ALL the footage to find both these oxygen thieves guilty.
They should. But that footage was released early with no context. It was shown on every media outlet. It should never have released until the trial. But it suited the agenda at the time.

That’s an odd thing to assume.
Why? Before that video was released you had mps, people in power and crowds outside Rochdale police station accusing the police of brutality. The video was leaked and all of those people went quiet

One of them has got away with battering a police officer either way. Imagine if there was no footage

The only people to blame here are the jurors .. not the CPS etc. That's the problem with jury trials. One really does not know what prejudices they bring into the jury room
THIS, is it time for sharia law, ........
getting my coat sharpish

Yeah; I remember that. Only a short video was originally released, showing the officer "restraining" (!) the defendant. The ACAB mob on here had a field day, preaching about what action should be taken against said officer. When the longer version of the video was released, showing the defendants attacking people, including police officers, as well as reports about incidents in other parts of the airport (a coffee shop?), those same posters suddenly went very quiet, very quickly.
