Really don't see how Pellegrini is an upgrade on Bobby.

He isn't an upgrade. Mancini has the better C.V.

However he will set us up better as an attacking unit and I'm willing to stick my neck out and say we will outscore every other team in the league. Our defence won't be as solid given our style of play but we'd 'slaughter' more teams imho.

Man management and a talent for getting the most out of the tools at hand are his best attributes.

Very much this. I'm a Mancini 'fencer' - don't want him to leave but I won't lose sleep if he does. My biggest criticism of him is he's been here 3 and a half years now, apart from that great spell we had between April and December 2011, can we really say that Mancini has consistently got the very best out of his players? Pellegrini has squeezed every last ounce out of his players at Villarreal and Málaga, as well as managing to successfully re-structure the Villarreal side when their best player (Riquelme) decided he wanted to go back to Argentina. Even at Real Madrid you could argue that he got the best out of his players (goals for and record points tally) despite a ludicrously haphazard transfer policy from Perez.

go back 40 odd years when we sacked joe mercer after a very successful spell, we are about to make the same horrendous error.

Joe Mercer had the respect of the whole club.

not by those that mattered he didn't.

The players loved and respected him to a man.

Are you going to tell me it's the same with Mancini?

And also, back then our club was run by a bunch of two-bit divs. Now it isn't. There is no comparison. None.

It definitely isn't. the body language from the players on occasion speaks volumes, not that thats a bad thing, but bi ego's need handling right, and mancini upset quite a few at inter

Backward step imo he's won & done nothing major. We'd be slated if we sacked Mancini after what he's won & done for us. Stupid move which I can't see going through.

No he didn't.
He had the respect of Alexander, then Swales took over and Mercer was out on his ear.
Quite possibly the most disgraceful episode in the club's history.

We get slated anyway so who gives a fuck?
This.

Do what is best for the future of City, not what keeps the rag consensus quiet.

How can taking a backward step on a manager be good for our future?

I've got an idea, lets get Keegan back, great man manager, plays attacking free flowing gung ho football and has won the sum total of fuck all, loves us to so thats a bonus.

If we become unstable at the back i'll guarantee we'll lose more games than we've done under Mancini.

Goals win games, defences win titles usually. This year we're second because the defense has done it's job whilst the strikers haven't done theirs by and large, if the same happens next season under Pelligrini we'll struggle for top 4 without a defensive platform to build on.

Imo it's a risk not worth taking, if Mancini is going we should break the bank for Klopp.

I know it was only one game, but I went to the Malaga v Atletico Madrid game and I don't recall a single attempt on goal (by either side) in the whole 90 minutes!!!!

It was. But I'm really not sure it will rate highly in the strategic thinking of Messrs al Mubarak, Soriano and Begeristain.

Agree totally.

Perez wanted to claw back the gap on Barca so bought heavily to get the gap closed. Pellegrini got 96 points for them which would have got the title but if not for the best side of all time who were entering their peak.

A Manager who is aiming for top 4 this year even though he's lost crucial players and has to make do with RSC on loan etc. Lifting morale from a team that's not being paid properly and have been banned by UEFA for next years CL. They were a gnats pubic hair away from progressing in Europe passed Dortmund. This is very much getting the best out of what you have. Whereas 99% of Mancini inners say he wasn't properly backed and was hard done to in the summer, Pellegrini was not only not backed but he was witnessing his best players being sold without adequate replacements! Blinkered, truly blinkered!
