Backward step imo he's won & done nothing major. We'd be slated if we sacked Mancini after what he's won & done for us. Stupid move which I can't see going through.
go back 40 odd years when we sacked joe mercer after a very successful spell, we are about to make the same horrendous error.

No we won't!

We have great players, great board and a great future.

You are misguided if you think Mancini is solely the reason for our success.

We will not know until Mancini is replaced managers who are "Winners" are very few and far between.

Pellegrini could come in set us up great play fantastic football but when it comes to the crunch of winning a very important game will we? Also he wouldn't be respective by most city fans until he did.

He isn't an upgrade. Mancini has the better C.V.

However he will set us up better as an attacking unit and I'm willing to stick my neck out and say we will outscore every other team in the league. Our defence won't be as solid given our style of play but we'd 'slaughter' more teams imho.

Man management and a talent for getting the most out of the tools at hand are his best attributes.

Very much this. I'm a Mancini 'fencer' - don't want him to leave but I won't lose sleep if he does. My biggest criticism of him is he's been here 3 and a half years now, apart from that great spell we had between April and December 2011, can we really say that Mancini has consistently got the very best out of his players? Pellegrini has squeezed every last ounce out of his players at Villarreal and Málaga, as well as managing to successfully re-structure the Villarreal side when their best player (Riquelme) decided he wanted to go back to Argentina. Even at Real Madrid you could argue that he got the best out of his players (goals for and record points tally) despite a ludicrously haphazard transfer policy from Perez.

Agree totally.

Perez wanted to claw back the gap on Barca so bought heavily to get the gap closed. Pellegrini got 96 points for them which would have got the title but if not for the best side of all time who were entering their peak.

A Manager who is aiming for top 4 this year even though he's lost crucial players and has to make do with RSC on loan etc. Lifting morale from a team that's not being paid properly and have been banned by UEFA for next years CL. They were a gnats pubic hair away from progressing in Europe passed Dortmund. This is very much getting the best out of what you have. Whereas 99% of Mancini inners say he wasn't properly backed and was hard done to in the summer, Pellegrini was not only not backed but he was witnessing his best players being sold without adequate replacements! Blinkered, truly blinkered!

Cant really argue with that

I know it was only one game, but I went to the Malaga v Atletico Madrid game and I don't recall a single attempt on goal (by either side) in the whole 90 minutes!!!!

Perhaps we wont need to buy any defenders this summer then - sounds like Pellegrini has that covered...........

If you were a top class club looking for a new manager and you'd gone to the City v Wigan game recently you'd have signed Martinez rather than Mancini.

If you went to the Granada v Malaga or Madrid v Valladolid games at the weekend you'd be more impressed with the Granada and Valladolid managers too.

They are very selective in their matches
What about if it was a top class club wanting a new manager and they were watching us against the rags away, arsenal away, spurs at home, chelsea home, chelsea in the cup..
