Sam663, sorry i might have missed your post.

Which of our kids deserve more of a chance and how often have you seen them play?

Watched 2 games during my stay there , and Razak got substituted in both of these matches , and was pretty much certain that he could claim a place in Frankfurt's first team (it's just an opinion). Against West Brom it came as a shock to me that he still gets only 4-5 minutes to display his talent. His progress has been stagnated , may be attitude problems ? I don't know.

He has Yaya, Barry, Rodwell, Garcia and arguably Milner in front of him, it's not that hard to comprehend why he's not playing.

We did win it, but it was on goal difference, against a poor Manchester United squad. It might sound defeatist but I don't think we'll have it that easy next season.

A poor United squad that got one of the highest points tallies in their history.

I dont know why people keep pushing this myth.
Rags are generally the ones who keep pushing this myth

I agree. It's a way of putting us down and also bigging up their history. Fact remains they won a title and got to a CL final the season before we won the league and they had the same squad bar VDS and an injured Vidic. It's absolute bullshit to be honest.

Arguably it is the most efficient way to win it, just beating the second place team
Why expend energy on gaining extra points you don't need?

Form.

You start a season as good as you finish the last one imho.

Back on to United, if you listen to Ferguson he talks up this squad as one of his best because of ages of players and versatility. It's the same squad as 2 years ago but for 3 players, De Gea, Kagawa and RVP. The rest are the same outfit that finished runners up. This myth is as pathetic as 'Harry the saviour' who took Spurs from relegation scrappers to top4, completely ignorant to the fact Jol had them finish 5th a few times previous to Ramos taking over.

The next myth is that Moyes is a top manager, Laudrup has already surpassed him and he's been here 1 year rather than 8.

Fucking lies!

... or any other player you've chosen on a whim to dislike that day. I've seen this song and dance before.

Of course , players that deserve the chance : Suarez , Razak , Lopes , Pozo , Guidetti (if fit ) , Ntcham , Vlad Marin ( heard he was on his way to Lazio first team) , Jordi Hiwula ( another one whose progress has been installed) .

Anyway , enlighten me with your wisdom , the chances Mancini has given to " any other player " , except for the usual 4-5 minutes of additional time.
Don't be foolish. This place tore itself to pieces the two times he gave a moderately youth-oriented squad out for cups... once against West Brom I think and once against Villa. We didn't do well and many of the same voices screeching for the youths to get their chance were the first in line to scream about how they should never have been on the pitch.

I think some people don't really understand the differences between reserve and Premier League level. It's like going from a school chess competition to playing Kasparov. You only have to look at David Ball and Harry Bunn, they were both very prolific goal scorers for our reserves. Ball is now playing for Fleetwood in the fourth level of English football and Bunn has yet to make any real impression on loan at lower league clubs. So saying Hiwula is ready for the first team is pretty much nonsense when he hasn't even been out on loan yet. Most of them are not ready to be in the first team yet.

However, a few of the better starlets could probably be implemented into the first team fold without sabotaging the possibility of success. No reason a Denis Suarez couldn't have sat on the bench in Sinclair's spot some weeks, or those weeks when we've had injuries yet 4 or 5 of our 7 subs have been defensive players. It might have given our most promising kids a morale boost to sit on the bench with the possibility of some minutes. Lopes in particular deserved some reward for his goal in the FA Cup after being on the pitch for 3 minutes, instead he was back in the reserves and Sinclair continued to embed himself in the club bench. And of course if he hasn't been lied to, Guidetti is now our fourth striker once fully fit, which will be a breakthrough as it could mean our first academy player in a long time becoming a permanent regular in the match day 18.

So while I don't buy the masturbatory "give all our homegrown kids a chance!" policy, I think we need to improve our youth policy in at least giving the better ones more of an opportunity to break through. Perhaps the Premier League could add 2 sub spots with the rule they have to be academy players 20 or younger.
