Manchester City - Premier League Champions 2022/23

We were there for the taking this season. We dropped so many points that we didn't expect to earlier in the season. Of course we turned our form around, but the damage was already done and for a while there it was all in Arsenal's hands.

The way they collapsed this season has nothing to do with the quality of their players or Arteta's tactics. It's entirely psychological. The test for them is whether they learn from that and overcome it next time, or allow it to haunt them and keep happening.

The difference between the two clubs is that when it looked likely Arsenal would win the league, we dug in, tightened up and determined to be in a position to take advantage if they slipped, whereas when it looked likely that City would win the league, Arsenal fell apart.

The true champions' mentality is to take it one match at a time and never give up, and Pep and our players have that mindset locked in. What some outsiders don't seem to understand is that there's no amount of money in the world that can buy that mentality.

Does anyone remember a point in our season where the RAGs were mentioned as in the title race? I'm convinced some elements of the media wanted and said it.

Arsenal had a great season, but couldn't keep their basketball-style rhythm or find a plan B, after months of doing so. Unlucky. Them and Newcastle Utd will kick on for a title challenge.

Spurs will be there or there abouts to challenge for 4th to 6th.

Liverpool, who knows?!

But... the CHAMPIONS will want their throne back. I'd love us to start stepping up our strongest academy players and not buy a single player...

We can still reach 94pts, beat Everton at home, forest away and Brentford at home, all games you would expect us to win and we go over 100pts again.

That is the bench mark for the rest, you have to get 90+ pts to compete.

And you know what mate, all of that is doable as well
For sure. I think I remember Pep talking about additional motivation coming from the players in the build up to the centurions year. Wrapped up the title and then went after 100 goals and points. I think they will be doing the same now. Fingers and toes crossed.

City have been absolutely amazing, particularly post World Cup. However Chris the thick yokel Sutton gobbing off as ever that “every real Manchester City” fan wants to win the CL more than the PL every season. Wtf does that clown know about City? Every match going Blue wants the lot but outs PL first. Let’s now win the fucking lot.

If we do win the CL let’s go for 4 PL’s in the trot. But next season will be even harder as we will have the super cup and then the world club championship in Saudi Dec 12 to Dec 22. However nothing is beyond the bald fraud over thinker, you fucking genius Pep

The benchmark for the best isn’t “beat Everton Brentford and Forest”, it’s to accept we didn’t, learn from it and move in stronger. We can’t get 100 points, we can get 94 points, we can’t change history, that is the mentality of a winner.

Here's to all the blues up in the Kippax in the sky, cheers dad and all your brothers who were proper blues, we'll raise a glass tp you tomorrow at The Crown and Kettle on Gt Ancoats st a stones throw from where you were born and then watch them magnificent blueboys raise that trophy once more!
Beautiful post, speaks for so many of us.

Did I hear that right ? Tony Adams said Arsenal had a great season - no they didn’t - they won nothing and blew an eight point lead in the PL - talented young individuals but losers and bottlers
In fairness Arsenal do like winning the top 4 trophy since Wenger first invented it.
