Manchester City releases 2023-24 Annual Report | Record £715m revenue, profit of £73m

No, a company can roll forward past losses to offset against profit. Hence no corporation tax is payable this year.
I think that is unlikely. They have made a profit for at least the past four years rolling past losses although “theoretically” can be almost indefinite it requires a number of circumstances to be true. Of course they have the accountants to find these but I would be surprised if they aren’t hitting decent tax this year

I assume that is meant as a joke? We have actually made a profit in each of the past four years now so would pay full corporation tax on the profits

We paid zero, most of it netted off due to Group Relief Claimed - the accounts came out today and show it page 40.

No, you're wrong. Please read the accounts before replying further!

Should be a pleasing thing to hear but it just leaves a lingering sour taste after the constant price hikes.

Now we can all see just how Inconsequential that continued season ticket price hike was to the club. People who have been there their whole lives being being priced out bit by bit for absolutely no purpose other than a minute fractional improvement on the balance sheet.

They could afford to give everybody a free season ticket and still record a profit, a price freeze would have zero impact on them but never miss a chance to extract as much as possible eh city?

If they re not going to invest in the squad and keep raising ticket prices they can fuck off with their annual record revenue report
