It’s an initiative Liverpool do for fans with an ‘L’ postcode, they also get to apply for tickets a week before they go out on general sale.

I just think it’s a really good initiative. Football clubs exist for the citizens in the town or city they’re situated. Of course there are fans from elsewhere or who have moved away, but the club should always be a service for the local people first and foremost.


Metrolink do give free travel on the network to people when it’s the Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford.
Generally anyway, it’s only £2 for travel on local buses.
There could easily be a compromise for cheap or even free travel to City and United games on the Metrolink now it’s all tied into the Bee Network. Maybe they could do £2 to the Etihad/OT on any Met or bus as long as you get a ticket to there/tap out there?

I think that’s a really good idea. The local area/ people should really be the main ones benefiting from the club. Otherwise what’s the point of the ground being there. You’ve got city supporting kids who live within sight of the ground who have never been to a league match. That’s not right.

Cheaper travel and discounted tickets would secure the next generation of city fans as well.

I know it sounds harsh, and I doubt you care, but this is how hyperbolic stories start amongst fanbases.

Fancy trying to discuss how we pay Corporation Tax, which is one of the trickier sides of accounting, and then saying you never made it past page one of the annual report.

As a former auditor, this feels like incredible news.

I’m not an accountant, but isn’t this conclusive?

Surely if we were even aware of a possibility of an impending financial impairment, we are legally bound to disclose it in our audited accounts?

Unless I am misunderstanding, doesn’t this mean that we KNOW that we are off the hook?

In a word, yes, it does give that feel.

IF there was a chance that the outcome could have a significant material impact on the Accounts, then they'd at least have had to disclose it with a note on the Accounts.

It being in the going concern section last year was a bit weird, as that would indicate that the outcome could prevent the club from operating completely.

But yes, the fact it's not mentioned at all is quite a statement in itself; be interested to hear what someone much more experienced than myself would have to say.

No, last year they had 831.4m Euros compared to our 825.9m

This years figure for us is 852.7m Euros so lets see if they match that?

Assume they’ll be at least close given we were CL winners at the time and they are this time around
