I am getting more and more excited. All the signings look brilliant. Now we have width. Our passing is incredible.

For 35 minutes there we were breathtaking. Not bothered about the rest. You play that back 4 and you will concede goals, and once the second half comes in these games it's just a training exercise.

I think something very special is about to happen.

Funny what a little width and pace can do. Been saying it for two years, haven't we? ;)

Grini looks like he knows what he is doing in comparison.
We certainly have fella. I nearly fell off the settee with excitement when navas did the fullback and put that cross in for the first goal. I rang my dad up and shouted "two years we've been waiting for that!!!!!"

I think we are going to win the league and make a big mark in Europe this year.

They let us score three goal. Out of sympathy.

Haha, could have been 8-0 by the time you got your first.

-- Wed Jul 31, 2013 7:44 pm --

Hi mate, a joy to behold. ;-)

IMO we went five up and literally started to think if they had carried on they would have embarrassed AC and literally stopped playing, not saying we gave them the three goals I have never seen a game like that ever. Good job only pre season because if we did that against the scum I would have gone mental.

First 35 were just awesome, lots to look forward to.

Understandably took the foot off the gas but that doesn't excuse the fact that Garcia and Kolarov are utter wank plus Jolene can't cope when he hasn't got Vinny alongside him as he's just too slow.

The first goal was just sublime, it was just joyful to watch Navas skin the fullback and swing in a cross. It's been toooooo long since we had a player with pace capable of going past a defender like that.

Usual sketch in the second half, although imo it just reiterated the usual in that Nasri doesn't offer anything and GazBaz just hasn't got the legs.

All in all though, I have confidence that MP will see what we all saw and is capable of realising who the deadwood is.

Happy days.

Kolarov scores a goal and he's a wank? Where's the logic in that! He played a fairly decent game.

Garcia needs to move back up to DM, he's not looked good trying to convert him. But as we all know, the back four that let in the goals is not going to be playing many games together as a unit.

When those who missed the game watch the highlights, you will be encouraged to see how well the team played in creating and scoring those 5 goals. Excellent team play.

Pre season friendlies are about building on the positives. Today there were many.

Yet so much negativity on here. It was a fucking friendly FFS

Garcia is a very good player. Play him alongside Nasty or Kompany and there wouldn't be a problem. Play two slow central defenders together in a high line against a flying machine and they will struggle

Vidic is slow too. is he a donkey?

Football is about more than pace, and defending is about partnerships

A very good player? Based on what? I've yet to see him be very good at CM let alone CD. He was poor against Southampton and QPR. Was down right abismal today. If he was a very good player it wouldn't matter who was next to him he's be very good. It's not just that he's slow. He lacks confidence, particularly on the ball. Looks like he's got a granade on his foot and is deperate to get it away. Lacks awarness of what's going on. So combine that with a total lack of pace and it's a disater. If he had pace he could make up for his lack of awareness, or if he had awareness he could make up for his lack of pace. But if you have none of the above it just doesn't work.

Agreed. Fans and commentators both called for pace and width for years. It was so glaringly obvious, and finally (!) a remedy.

Silva was sublime the first half... more of that please

Jovetic and Navas wow

forgot to add GREAT to see Richards back and beastly as usual
