i think it's gonna be a tough match.its gonna be intense, fast paced due to the nature of our game, the fans will up 4 it and all that..but i still think the difference will be suarez, sturidge, sterling 1 on 1 against a slow demichelis.i think we will nick it.our attack is way 2 strong for ur defence especially @ anfield

your attack is "WAY to strong" for our defence yet you only think you will "nick It" something not adding up
so i will say it how i feel, our midfield is in a different world to yours

Well I say it is. I could smell his anti-tory rhetoric from 50 yards. And you know what, I don't give a shit what he thinks. Hillsborough was a terrible thing and people should be left to deal with it in their own way. If he wants to go on a crusade, fine by me. But not in the City Liverpool pre-match thread thanks very much.

I can't see Nasri having a good game, as I've already stated in his own thread.

Hart
Zabaleta - Kompany - Demichelis - Clichy
Javi Garcia - Fernandinho
Navas - Yaya Toure - Silva
Aguero

We aim to take control of the midfield by having Fernandinho and Javi Garcia working to stifle to threat of Henderson and Coutinho, while we have Gerrard distracted by Yaya Toure, and two quick, small midfielders. Let's stretch him.

We could definately dominate this game if we play like it like that.

It'd be a mistake if we go with a two man midfield.

I think Rodgers will play Lucas to deal with the threat of our players rather than Coutinho in the same way we might bolster our midfield rather than play two strikers. Going to be quite a battle, I think it will be far from the free flowing game many expect. But I think we will win it.

Also, Rodgers said he is going to unleash the Liverpool crowd. I don't know whether he uses that phrase because they are all dogs or because normally they are restrained but he said it and he was serious. Playing the crowd factor up a lot which is generally what you would do when you felt your team was inferior and you needed crowd support. I think we will see a more reserved Liverpool - Rodgers will be more than aware that we are better and that he will need to monitor the movement of our midfielders. Gerrard can't do that on his own, Henderson has played further forward at times to link their play and Coutinho is naturally more attack minded than Lucas. I fully expect Lucas to play. I think we will play Milner wide and Silva more centrally and will keep Fernandinho and Yaya as the two other central midfielders. Garcia has managed to come and integrate well but only if Yaya pushes further forward late on. We need Yaya to be deeper to start with to have a bigger influence on the game.

But you are better than us, and we do need the crowd's support.

I think you'll play a standard Pellegrini attacking lineup so I don't see Milner or Garcia starting. I would play Negredo over Dzeko, but I don't think Pellegrini benches Dzeko.

Have no idea how we'll lineup. In theory, Lucas, Allen, Henderson is our most energetic and nimble midfield, but Gerrard adds steel, leadership, and is a potential game winner.

We've no chance if they unleash the crowd.

Cant score many goals if they've got 40,000 on the pitch.

You begin to see what United fans see with the scousers.

We thought United's wheeling out of Crerand, Robson, Yorke, etc., and all the idiotic comments before derbies was bad.

Never, ever seen anything as self-indulgent and melodramatic as all the pro-scouse stuff this week. They should be registered as a cult.

They're one step short of just saying: "Manchester City, you are OBLIGED to lose the match because people died tragically 25 years ago and it somehow gives us a moral right to defeat you."

Delusion scousers again.

We've scored a mediocre 84 goals in 31 games compared to a hugely strong 90 in 33 games. During this time our shit defence has conceded 29 goals and did so playing attacking 4-4-2.

You guys are an absolute laughing stock at the moment.

Re: Liverpool Thread 2013/14 (continued)

Brenda was talking today about "the 96 in the sky" and "working hard to give the families some comfort in seeing their club move forward. This weekend will be huge for that. " I think that the association of the hillsborough anniversary and Liverpool potentially winning the league is in really poor taste. Them winning the league will make no difference to the families or make their grief any easier to bear. The outcome of this match, or the league for that matter, should have nothing to do with the Hillsborough disaster.

Yeah it's all Margaret Thatcher's fault???!! Give it a rest with political horseshit FFS.
He's just explained, with great conviction, the reason why Liverpool can't just "move on" and you call it "political horseshit".

The disaster itself wasn't Thatcher's fault, and he didn't say it was. What he did say was that the process of finding the truth was delayed because of Thatcher's government and the Police.

It's been 25 years and we've only just found out the real truth and there's still corruption we're not aware of surrounding the Hillsbrough disaster.

So it's not "political bullshit", it's the good honest truth and exactly why Liverpool can mourn this injustice for years to come.

do they still have to do it in public though?

can't they finally do their mourning in private ffs
And I guess they should have done their protesting in quiet as well? Those 96 people just happened to be Liverpool fans, but they could have been City fans, United fans, fans of any team in the country. It really was the luck of the draw that on that day it was Liverpool fans at that game.

96 people lost their lives at a game of football - they weren't in gangs, they weren't shooting at the Police, they were just at a game of football. Not only that, but their families and friends were betrayed by the people they were supposed to trust - and you ask them to "mourn in private ffs" as though they've got absolutely no right to respect them.

It does annoy me when some Liverpool fans attach any death whatsoever to the "#YNWA' hashtag because I find it insincere and disrespectful. But 96 people, and the other victims of the day who were lucky enough to escape with their lives, were demonised on a national scale in order to save the reputation of the Police and nothing more. Now they finally, finally have something resembling the truth so I believe they can mourn as loudly as they want.

Plus, it's 25 years. Just like 10, 50 and 100, it's an appropriate time to reflect - add to that the things they've uncovered this past year and you'll see exactly why the entire country is going to pay their respects this weekend. The families deserve it.

I really think they'll be way too over hyped for this and we'l go out there and play in the image of our manager cool as a fucking cucumber!
