We just have to get on with our own game, lets not forget 3 points for us and the title is so close.... On a side note, i am thinking of watching this one in town does anyone know where might be full of blues

Looking forward to the game lads. I come in peace...well actually i came for some banter. No doubt it will be a tough game but i can see us beating you by the odd goal. You were lucky to get the 3 points at home and the fact of the matter is that whilst you have the better players on paper, we have the better team! There is no doubt about that, and that team is what will lead us to victory. That and Suarez running circles around Demichelis...Sterling making a fool of Clichy etc.

Lets just hope the ref doesn't decide the match with some idiotic decision. Other than that, it will be a good game.

P.S. in all honesty, Kolarov is a much better lb than Clichy and so i am hoping you start with Gael instead of Kolarov.

I remember the fixture at the Etihad, 2-1. We didn't play well but managed to win, and Mignolet was worked far more than Hart. They'd scored 17 goals in the 4 matches before they came to our place. Yes they had a bad decision with offside goal but I can only remember Hart making 1 save. The last 25 minutes was just an embarrassing mess of liverpool players falling over trying to win freekicks/penalties.

I think if we don't concede a penalty or get a man sent off the worst we could do is draw.

2-1 again for us.

No we weren't, you had a couple of counter-attacks, woo-hoo. You had 45 mins to equalise once we went ahead and you never even came close, what makes you think you can break us down this weekend?

Hope we leave a man on halfway line for their corners keep few of them fuckers back n start takin inswingin corners from us set pieces will be big in this game . Give no free kicks around our box hope mdm n kompany dont dive in stay on your feet

Clueless did this for a while. He left Robinho, Ireland and Sweep on the half way line at corners. Not a bad shout, you might think, as those three weren't likely to win many aerial duels.

In fact, the opposition would leave their mailer players back as cover which meant that all the 6 footers had a lot more space to run into and exploit. And we conceded more goals at set pieces - it was one of the first things Bobby Manc did, to organise us properly to defend corners and we stopped conceding from corners almost overnight (with the odd exception).

These days I'm for packing the box - it makes it more difficult to score. Less chance of a goal on the break, but the first objective in defending a corner is to defend it.

I thought we played better in that game at ours than some people are giving us credit for - not just Liverpool fans but some of our own too. Liverpool played well, particularly in the first half, but I thought we controlled it more after the break. Having said that, I seem to remember someone (Sterling I think) blazing a glorious opportunity over the bar in the second half.

That said, discussing who played the better in that game is irrelevant with regards to Sunday's match. We both start from scratch and it's impossible to know how it's going to all pan out.

Kolarov's not great defensively but he gives us plenty going forward. Although his form hasn't been great, I'd be tempted to play Clichy as I feel he is the better defender and we will surely find ourselves having a fair bit of defending to do in this game.

well if he does it will be the first time he's done it against real quality opposition. he has looked fantastic in some games against inferior teams, I'm yet to see him look fantastic against us or chelsea, or even (last year) the rags.

And don't believe all you see on TV about Demichelis - those of us who watch him week in week out know how good he is.

Have to say, I think the draw is nailed on. Recent history and current position makes any other outcome pretty unlikely.

I think another interesting aspect of this game is the subs bench.

We've waited what seems an eternity for Jovetic to get fit and when he does he gets roughly 10 minutes against Fulham, then sits out the games against United and Arsenal, then comes on and scores against Southampton.

Now we have almost a full squad to choose from it looks like he might not make the bench on Sunday.

Whatever the team that is picked we can only name 7 subs, these subs could be as critical as the team selection.

If we go with e.g.

Hart
Zabba, Komps, MDM, Clichy
Garcia
Nasri, Ferna, Toure, Silva
Negredo

The subs could be:-

Pants
Kolarov, Lescott
MIlner, Navas
Aguero, Dzeko

Which leaves Jovetic watching on when he could also be a game changer

Whichever way you slice it, one of them won't be in the 18

What do you think?
