Looking forward to the game lads. I come in peace...well actually i came for some banter.

1) You were lucky to get the 3 points at home .

2 )That and Suarez running circles around Demichelis

3) Lets just hope the ref doesn't decide the match with some idiotic decision

Welcome to the board.

1) Nothing wrong with being lucky.

We definitely have had the hoodoo over the last couple of years on Sir Brendan and Liverpool. You seem to always play better than us but never seem to win. Funny that.

2) Not one of your current back 5 would get near our team , as the stats show.

3) agreed , no excuses .

May the best team win.

Yeh, these stone wall penalties...you should have a quota for each season right? Bollocks...This place was much less full of vitriol when we weren't doing so well, blues are running scared? We'll see...personally I think your players will struggle with the atmosphere next week...think we'll see plenty of goals but I hope to god they're all conceded by yous lot, bit of humility would do you all some good.

You couldn't make this shit up if you tried.

Thinking that a team who have played more pressure matches in the last three years than you lot have played in the last 20 are going to "Struggle with the atmosphere"?

If you think your beloved Liverpool are going to score loads against us then you need to put the pop down and examine the stats for that probability.

I expect an open game and a tight one......it will be a draw or a City win.

Not a rumbling red tide washing all before them in a crescendo of scouse euphoric istoric entitlement.

Let's try escape the troll fest...

Man for man - Liverpool Vs Man City. My pick of the two teams to create an ultimate 11, with some reasoning and my own formation.

Mignolet / Hart- Both capable of huge errors, Hart wins it for me on experience.
Johnson / Zableta - Both quite equal for me, Zableta offers more in defence so gets the nod
Skrtel / Kompany - Skrtel gets bullied and Kompany is an all round better defender
Sakho / Demichellis(or any other CB) - Sakho is quality. He'll be on a par with Kompany in the next 2 years
Flanagan / Clichy/Kolarov - Experience wins out, don't really know enough about your two. Flanno is all heart though...
Gerrard / Fernandinho - Would take Gerrard over Ferndandinho, basically because he's Gerrard, his range of passing is far superior and in the style LFC play he's integral. Fernandinho has come good after a wobbly start, against any of our other midfielders he would have won out.
Henderson / Toure - Candidate for player of the year against someone who should be a candidate for young player of the year.
Coutinho / Silva - Struggled for form this year, still trying to work out his best position. He's not a 10 or a wide player. Silva, after having a bit of a shit season last year, is back on song. Pure Quality
Sterling / Navas - Contentious one this, I'd much rather have Sterling. Seems far more dangerous cutting inside than Navas. Much more of a goal threat and can play in the middle or out wide.
Sturridge / Dzeko - Studge is far more dynamic than Dzeko, playing across the front with ease. Better goal scoring record.
Suarez / Aguero - Another contentious one, purely on form I'd go with Luis. Think they're fairly equal in reality however for this game, I'd rather have the player in form than the one returning from injury.

This is why this game is pretty much win/win for us. If we lose, we shouldn't and won't be down hearted - playing a team who have been built with medals & championships in mind and assembled at a much greater cost (transfer and salary). You can argue that all you like but ultimately money spent = pressure to win things and that's what City have got. Citys team, on paper, should win easily...

If we win this game we're a step closer to the title. So win / win - personally think we're going to win it. Anfield will be a full on cauldron, the atmosphere will be fantastic and I know a lot of you have been taking the piss but the JFT96 campaign will bring additional passion for both the players and the fans to win this one. Gerrard, in particular (who lost a cousin at Hillsborough) always plays a blinder on these occasions. The fact it's a win/win means there's little pressure on us and we'll play with freedom. Plus...usually when we have a struggle away, our return home game see's us scoring lots of goals.

Pellegrini will probably follow a Chelsea model, soak up the pressure in the first 20 keep it tight and try win the midfield battle whilst using Silva to orchestrate. I think Toure might be the weak link for you here though, he's a world class player however he can be a lazy bastard at times and with our runners from midfield he's going to need to do his share of tracking and defending. Defensively we're weak however Dzeko doesn't scare me and I can't see Ageuro starting - after rushing him back the last time I think the manager and the player will both want a slow re-introduction. Sakho will be given the job of snuffing out Silva before he gets a chance to get his head up, between him & Gerrard they should be able to keep him quiet.

Hope that's not the case - would love you to come and play a high line on the front foot...

I think another interesting aspect of this game is the subs bench.

We've waited what seems an eternity for Jovetic to get fit and when he does he gets roughly 10 minutes against Fulham, then sits out the games against United and Arsenal, then comes on and scores against Southampton.

Now we have almost a full squad to choose from it looks like he might not make the bench on Sunday.

Whatever the team that is picked we can only name 7 subs, these subs could be as critical as the team selection.

If we go with e.g.

Hart
Zabba, Komps, MDM, Clichy
Garcia
Nasri, Ferna, Toure, Silva
Negredo

The subs could be:-

Pants
Kolarov, Lescott
MIlner, Navas
Aguero, Dzeko

Which leaves Jovetic watching on when he could also be a game changer

Whichever way you slice it, one of them won't be in the 18

What do you think?

Its a good point, but also a good problem to have. Personally, I'd have Jovetic in there somewhere and leave Negredo out.

So you really think Sturridge is a superior striker to Aguero?
and Sakho (a complete and utter fucking liability) is deserving of a place in a joint XI.
Go learn some humility, rationality and sense.

In all honesty, i think a draw would be the most realistic outcome as it would reflect the quality of the teams in fairness. As i said, you have bigger names and we have more of a team.

I reffered to the game at the Etihad because we had a goal disallowed for offside when it clearly wasn't and to be honest, i feel both teams had an equal amount of chances.

You have a great manager in Pelegrini, much better than Mancini and are playing some outstanding footie but he is still adapting to the PL.

You can bet your house Anfield will be like nothing you have ever seen before on Sunday and i whilst it will get youngsters like Flanagan and Sterling and Hendo up for the occasion, it could see Negredo, Dzeko, Jovetic, Silva and Garcia just being a bit more cautious.

Whoever thinks Luis Suarez doesn't perform against the big teams is sorely mistaken. Remember what he did when Kuyt scored his hatrick against united? Suarez has a much bigger contribution than just scoring goals...i believe he is also leading the assists table.

A lot will depend on whether Aguero is back for you guys, you look a much stronger team with him. Kompany is skating on thin ice lately and with the crowd at full blast i wouldn't put it past Clattenburg to award a penalty or show red.

Yaya said after one of the games last season that Liverpool were the toughest opponents he has faced after coming to England. Although our season went badly overall, I personally was delighted to here that from Yaya, and this season I can bet that we will make it even more tougher than earlier.

But realistically I see City to be the favorites for this tie if it's not heading for a draw. The Yaya factor has gone up a couple of notches this season and add to that the good form Dzeko, Silva( as always), Nasri and a couple of others are showing, it is going to be tough for any team on any day and also there is a chance that Aguero could return as well.

As for us we rely on the fast paced attack and link-up play of Suarez-Sturridge-Coutinho/Sterling but we have to really be dominant in mid-field for this one as getting enough space will not be easy for us, but if we click like in the previous big matches at anfield and click early then I guess we will have the edge.

But the deciding factor to me I guess would be the key to unlocking a weak defense which can be attributed to both the teams.

We've conceded 3 goals in our last 8 PL games with 5 clean sheets, not really what you'd call a weak defence is it.

Which goal was this exactly?
Not like a Liverpool fan to be deluded
