I will be astonished if Agüero goes from playing the final ten minutes of the Newcastle game to starting against Liverpool!

Just ease him in gently, otherwise I think we risk him getting injured for a lengthy period again.

I agree Sam. I think that Pellers will stick to more or less the same team as last week, with Edin and Jovetic starting up front. Kun to come on earlier than he did last week. The only uncertainties for me are whether to play Kolarov or Clichy, and Zab or Sagna. In regard to Clichy or Kolarov, he often plays Clichy for his speed, but then we lose the rapier-like crosses of Kolarov. I think for a game such as this he will probably play Zab.

Speaking of Jovetic, I hope this is his moment to shine. He seemed frantic last week to get on the score sheet and prove himself. He just needs to settle down, work the ball around, and the chances will come.

City 3 Scousers 0

I would be thrilled with this scoreline.
I'll take a scrappy, boring 1-0 win, thank you very much.

Won't turn down a three or four goal battering of the candle wielders though!

I, like you, would settle for a steady & calm 1-0 win.
Sadly, however, I fear that it will be the usual case of nail biting nervous tension, all around the Etihad, as the final couple of minutes approach.

We simply don't do scrappy or boring these days... Particularly against the scousers.

First game of the season, at home, in front of our crowd, both sides have the ability to win, both sides will suffer through lack of full match fitness, for me this will come down to desire whether we want it more than them. So when the tanks are running empty on both sets of players it will be that determination to keep going on adrenalin if need be to get over the line. I just hope we want it more than them.

I think this will be a great game.

I'd be happy with a draw on monday.

Good luck, City fans, may the best team win. :)

(Liverpool fan)

I don't believe you .....

Most of your fans who come on here have a screw loose ;)

Good luck after tomorrow....not a chance this will be a draw..

I'm quietly confident, especially after watching how much space southampton found in front of that back four - Silva, Nasri and Toure should cause plenty of problems.

Absolute must win game.

We need to be beating all of our rivals at home and getting a minimum of a draw this season to win the league in my opinion.

I would be gobsmacked if we didn't play two strikers at home. Even though it seems logical to go with Dzeko as loan striker that smacks as though we are changing to suit Liverpool, my understanding of Pellers if they will change to suit our style. Just my opinion.

You don't believe me? So you think ALL Liverpool fans have a screw loose? It's funny how you judge people before you know them.. SOME Liverpool fans may have a screw or two loose, but most of us are actually quite normal. Don't judge everyone based on a few people you've known before :)

My username on Liverpoolfc.com's official forum is Simon1234, look me up. Now you'll believe me.

Good luck tomorrow, again, it'll be a tight game for sure!
