I don't understand why the yanks don't just have it kick off at 1pm or something over there?

It'd be a decent time in the UK as well then!

They're not yanks . . Vancouver's in Canada.

It's a mid-week game so I guess they've chosen the ko time to suit fans attending after work and to allow it to be televised live as a mid-week evening fixture.
Certainly won't be too hot as it's been pissing down for about a week!
