Manchester City's plan for global domination.

They become available on the ticket site. They are normally released a couple of weeks before the game although that varies depending on how tickets are selling generally. There really is no alternative to checking a number of times each day as even where the website says Sold out, that can change within a couple of hours.

Perfect, thanks for that. I see that tickets are available for Spurs again, great way of doing things and ensures fans aren’t ripped off.

It is a good scheme. I also live in Scotland and use my season ticket for around 15 home games per season. The remainder, I sell on the exchange which gets me credit against next seasons SC. Everyone’s a winner!

Almost got a hardon reading that.

That is one of the best reads on the way the club has moved ahead of its rivals, not just domestically either.

Could you imagine what if Barca had implemented this 10 years ago?

We are very lucky to have the visionaries we do at the helm of this club

And anyone else thinking about implementing something similar is at least 5 years behind and god knows how many millions investment in the academy and other group infrastructure. Onwards and upwards, 2 or 3 in every continent and shortly we'll be able to have a City World Cup every 4 years.

Be much better than the Thomas Cook Trophy

The PR team are clearly earning their crust, with this plus the recent FT article projecting us in a good light.

It's a good read, even if there's little new (and a mistake saying the 2012 title win was our first major trophy in 36 years) but I'm torn on this. I understand the vision and potentially it's a great idea to have feet on the ground in these countries but I really don't care about any club other than City. And I know people who watch NYCFC who are rags or otherwise hate us. So the supposition that we're going to become fans of these clubs or that Uruguayans will all become City fans is fanciful in my opinion. However these plans reinforce the notion that the Sheikh (or at least Abu Dhabi) aren’t getting bored anytime soon and will be around for quite a while.

Ultimately though, as the biggest club in the CFG stable, it's our success that will affect the perception and global popularity of the club. All over the USA there are fan clubs and these fans gather to watch games and, having watched games with some, in both Pittsburgh & Phoenix, they are passionate. My son said over 100 people watched last Sunday's match in the Kettle Black in downtown Phoenix, the overwhelming majority being blues.

My criticism, as a match-going fan, has always been that Garry Cook saw us as real people whereas Soriano sees us as cells on a spreadsheet. That he'd be happier having 40k in the stadium paying £60 each than 55k paying £40 each. That he'll look at revenue projections and say "Increase those by 5%" with no thought at all for the impact on a working class family with a couple of kids and an already stretched budget.

I also feel that the board & executives, in their rush to create a footballing Disneyworld, took their eye off the ball as far as City were concerned. One League Cup in 3 seasons without a serious challenge for the PL is simply not a good enough return for what we’ve spent and where we think we are now as a club. Hopefully that’ll be put right this season but I want sustained and consistent success and I believe it’s taken too long to put the right factors in place. We should also have focused on gaining a foothold in the corridors of power at the FA & PL but we still seem to be seen as a target and fair game for the likes of Wenger & Mourinho, who have got that foothold. To me, that would have served our purpose better than buying some club no one’s heard of in South America.
Whilst I agree with some of your points, surely a feeder club (that we actually own) is a far greater asset than you give it credit for, considering the huge talent that comes from that area of the world.
Also Im doubtful of Maureen & Whingers supposed 'foothold in the FA'
I think they have realised that Pep is on a different coaching level to them and really all they can do about it is complain about refs & money.
Both (imo) are in their last prem seasons anyway.

I must admit, I havent thought much about the global entity that CFG are attempting to build, I suppose like the average long suffering City fan I've been too busy drooling at our standard of play this season. And hoping for a massive 'double'

So we are to become the Apple of football, the first ever.
I'm left wondering (after reading that) where this rampant capitalism stands in the minds and conscience of our local working class fan base, (Clayton and its surrounds isnt the West end of London). Will they lose heart as the machine rolls on or will Socialism be temporarily shelved while CFG grind Manchester United and its dominance into the dirt ?

For myself, I dont care, whats one more conglomeration in a world of Coca Cola & Disney ?

I'm like the average City fan, I just want them to win everyfuckingthing :D

Talking about global domination made me think about the 659 million Utd. fans in the four corners of the world......haha!! I have a question for everyone as follows;

As they watch City play brilliant football week after week and play their team off the park in the Derby how many are now thinking we've picked the wrong bloody team here.

My answer would be about 500 million at the moment LOL!!!!!!!!!!!.

Barca average around 20000 a match below capacity over the course of a season. And there still looking to expand. Stop listening to Rags. How you can read that article and not see the need for us to not stand still?

The matches are sold out generally (no tickets available from the club), other that via ticket exchange/wankers at viagogo, so blues are missing out going to games currently and the club revenue. Not a sensible long term strategy
Build it, and they will come
