Just ordered mine from Amazon. I've got "Manchester - The Greatest City" which was an excellent read, so I'm really looking forward to this new publication.

Waterstones Deansgate and the National Football Museum have copies signed by me and, of course, when I do Supporters Club meetings (Alkrington branch next week) I can usually sell it discounted and signed.

I've seen a review today which starts: “Manchester – the City Years” is simply the most comprehensive history ever written about the reigning champions of England.

The part I love most is, of course, the bit that says "reigning champions of England" - first time I've written a book on the reigning champions of England.

Much appreciated. Apparently today's Backpass magazine has a two page feature on the book launch as well. A bit ironic really as the mag is mostly sold via WHSmith and they've so far refused to stock "Manchester The City Years" - it'll be great if people go in asking for it based on the recommendation of a mag they sell.

Thanks again to everyone who has bought the book and/or written a review. Despite a lot of pushing and promotion work there hasn't yet been a review in a national newspaper, so any mention is appreciated. Thanks.

My copy arrived from Amazon a few days ago and I'm absolutely delighted with it. Tempted though I was to start with the chapter on last season, I decided to read it all in order. It'll take a while (there are over 600 pages), but it's so well written and it's a real page-turner. So far I've only reached the Ardwick years, but it's fascinating to learn about the early origins and activities like scuttling. Well done Gary - you've excelled again.

So to any City fans who are unsure whether to buy this book or not: DO IT! It is THE book on City.
