I keep hearing a lot about "form goes out of the window for a derby", "wounded animal", it's nonsense. If we don't win this game, we have shot ourselves in the foot. Currently they're playing worse then they were under Moyes. They were lucky to beat Southampton, Watford, and West Ham at home, got battered at home by PSG, without their two best players, and couldn't muster a shot on target against a Barcelona team in the first leg that were way under par. My worry is Pep might try and overthink this game, and play with a view to Burnley on Sunday.

Will the FA charge Ollie with the shit that he's spouted about 'tactical fouling'! If anything brings the game into disrepute more than a manager insinuating foul tactics from the opposition in order to influence a ref I have yet to hear or see it! The Baby-faced Assassin? The Baby-faced Canute, more like! C'mon City, shove a few goals past the world's best keeper- keep up his average this week!

Not sure it was wise for OGS to respond to Pep's polite support of him in his press conference with accusations that we're dirty and foul everyone.

Talk about burning an olive branch.

Spot on. I hope Pep has our players focused on the game and we put down a real statement. No let up.

Their forum tends to be populated by “fans” from far and wide. The exact type of fan I’m saying buys in to the Liverpool myth.

Going off Mancunian based reds I know personally, none of them use their forum, and none of them want City to win the league.

My cousin who is based in a different part of Manchester has observed exactly the same thing - his red mates are all desperate to beat us on Wednesday.

In my experience, the “Liverpool are our biggest rivals” is a line trotted out by Mancunian reds to wind up City fans.

Don’t get me wrong, I know there’s no love lost between The Shite and the Scousers.

But for the majority or reds who live, work and have close family and friends who are blues, City winning the league would grate them far more than Liverpool in real life. On their forum it’s a whole different kettle of fish.
Completely agree.

Didn't feel like derby day when I woke up. Just another must win game.

I agree, it is just another team that stand in our way to winning the title.

This Must Win scenario is quite liberating actually. We know what we must do. Draws are not good enough.

If any team is built to be a winning machine then it's ours. We go for 4 straight wins to win the league, simple.

I dont even think tonight will be our toughest game, I think Leicester will be tougher.

We are ridiculously short odds to win (1.40), to put it into context Spurs were 1.33 to beat Brighton at home last night! I have layed £1000 against us winning tonight to soften the blow if the unthinkable happens.
Silly waste of money.

Can't fucking wait to put these twats and their gimp of a manager in their place, cmon city show these fuckers what real football looks like.

Mendy should definitely start if fit.
Spuds were gash on Saturday but still could have scored 3 by simple 30/40 yard diagonal punts for Son to chase and he won every one.
Mendy should sit in at set pieces as cover for Kompany and/or Laporte.
Really? I have been watching City since the early 70's and Saturday was the best spurs team I have ever seen.

I'd disagree with that. I think we were far too leggy and let them play. We've soundly beaten better Spurs teams than that imo. The team that drew 2-2 at the Etihad in Guardiola's first season were certainly better.

Utd fans in the office are surprisingly upbeat about their chances tonight
Why wouldn't they be, it's a free hit and nobody really expects them to win. We used to be like that, when we were shite and they were one of the best club sides in the world.

I see Pep was asked in press conference by McDonnell , I think ,from the Daily Mirror about Solskjaer's comments to his players that he's preparing them for the "tactical fouling" by City players that occurs when they try to make a counter attack .Pep seemed shocked that he would make that assertion and says he has never told his players to tactically foul anyone in his career and asked the reporter how could it be ,if we ( City ) have 75% of the play , that tactical fouling could go on?
Later on he was asked again about being shocked and he said basically that he never never never prepared a team to play like that .Of course sometimes when the play is fast a player can act in that way but that "we don't do that " - (intentionally).
Then Pep was asked whether he was worried if this is a tactic to influence the referree and Pep replied " that is the reason" ( why Solskjaer said it) and he said that he will be banned if he says anything on referrees .
Pep remained so calm throughout and said basically that he wasn't worried about anything
" because we don't do that " (kind of tactic).

So ,mind games ahead of this one folks . Just be wary of all the tricks that will be thrown at us this evening. Pep certainly is .
