Manchester v Liverpool

Why do so many scouse footballers live is south mcr / Cheshire? Jordan Henderson is currently having a (rather grotesque) mansion built in Over Peover and most of the squad love over this way.... wonder why.

I love going to liverpool for a day/night out. I think its a great City.

i think Scousers are a different bread, not always in a bad way i add.

liverpool supporters give your city a bad name. Trouble has followed that club around for years and the ‘its never your fault’ tag isnt without justification.

the accent grinds but ive met plenty of scousers who id rather have a pint with over plenty of mancunians.

so to summarise.

liverpool- great city
Liverpool fans - generally cultish and cocks

Teardrop Explodes, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, The Mighty Wah, Deaf School, Flock Of Seagulls, OMD, Echo and the Bunnymen, Cook Da Books, The Wombats, The Zutons, The Christians, Space, The Coral, Big In Japan, The Lightning Seeds, Dead Or Alive, Cast, The Icicle Works, The Real Thing, Carcass, The Wild Swans, The Lotus Eaters, The Black Velvets, The Merseybeats, The Big Three, The Searchers, The Fourmost, The Swinging Blue Jeans, Lita Roza, Frankie Vaughan, Michael Holliday, Billy Fury, Etc etc

Sonia and Atomic Kitten..OK we apologise for them.

Plenty of talent from both cities, just enjoy
I'm playing OMD right now. Went to see them in York last year and they were incredible at 60.

Liverpool city centre is nicer. Manchester’s city centre, especially at night feels very unsafe. All the drug takers, homeless people and violence I’ve seen. Myself and a few of my friends have been robbed on nights out.

picadilly gardens is a disgrace

Interesting read about our socialist neighbors..

Never had any problem with the city. Had a girlfriend who studied at uni there, used to go over regularly. I like Scouse gallows humour. It's had some very decent music. Daniel Craig's a Scouser, would love to see him doing Bond with that accent, one day.

My problem is with LFC, and a (largish) section of its fans.

I remember driving down to Liverpool from Lytham round about Christmas 1982 to see an Elvis Costello gig. We drove through miles and miles of what appeared to be a city that had suffered a nuclear strike. Never seen anything like it, anywhere on earth.
I presume it looks very different now. I hope so, anyway.

I had Friday night in Liverpool and really enjoyed it. There were a strip of Irish bars down the road from my hotel and many had live music on. I picked a pub to watch the football but everywhere was lively. Had a great laugh with a group of Everton and Liverpool fans too. Real characters.
