This pathetic shadow of a once great paper has been in the gutter for years. They spin and lie constantly about our club. Journalists(ha) who work for MGN know they have reached the bottom of the barrel.
To try and pretend RM was sacked because he treated his staff with disdain, and making it the focus of the non-story is so puerile and willfully biased it deserves a place in the hall of fame of bad journalism. Even so his fans will accept it as proof of his martyrdom, a modern day Julius Caesar, stabbed in the back by rivals.
If this escalates, with more stories emerging of his empire-building, bringing in his own medical staff, trainers and coaches, it will get messy, with both sides suffering.
If the owner was satisfied with the way the club was being run by R.M., and the direction it was heading, and specifically his huge investment in the academy apparently being ignored, then he would not have interviewed the spanish two, liked what he heard and given the go-ahead. Once they were in place, RM had a choice, bend with the winds of change, or, given his personality, inevitably dig his heels in. The new men were backed by the Sheik, the outcome a foregone conclusion.
BM will be full of threads about it and when both sides have run out of steam, what will be left is "he took that fucking ticker down" for which everyone thanks him for, and against that " we should be doing better and we aint".
