I think it would be highly disrespectful to the supporters and to Mancini himself to just remove him now. What they should do is amicably find a severance package, then put a joint statement on the OS saying that these are Mancini's last two games in charge and lets use them to wish him all the best and thank him for everything he's done for the club.
If they weren't going to sack him as soon as they'd decided he was no longer the guy, then they should find a way to do this where the supporters are happy and Mancini is treated with some respect publicly for the his achievements, irrespective of what the private feelings of the club are.
