Why can't they just sack him? Do we have to wait for a replacement?
I think you're right on that Marvin. Do it and get it over with. The only thing I can think of is that lawyers are involved in sorting out the details and they can't do anything until that's finished.

I agree that if he's going get it done now otherwise the atmosphere will deteriorate further. Personally I was convinced he'd resign before being dismissed and maybe the club felt the same (or maybe not - who knows anything these days?). Now that it seems clear it's going to happen then I'd rather it just did happen and leave Kiddo or Platt in charge for last 2 games.

If it's not going to happen then say so.

If I was the Sheikh I'd be launching an internal investigation into how the news leaked. It should be fairly easy to trace back. In the 90s Franny Lee, Frank Clark & others talked of fifth columns and so on - that all helped destabilise City then and the Sheikh cannot allow that to destabilise City now or in the future. Whether it's been leaked in Carrington, Manchester, Oldham, Trafford, or Barcelona the leak needs to be plugged. I'm sure the Sheikh will be livid.

He has learned a lot from his Inter experience that it would of become very messy if he did that. The most popular decision is By Mutual Consent.

Brennan has no inside line to the club. He has a player contact. The players know as much about what is going on as we do.

Decisions will be made in Abu Dhabi and I'm pretty sure that it's currently seista time over there.

The players have known this was coming for a while now. This won't be a shock or disappointment to them.

Really?

Clearly there must be divisions in the playing ranks aswell.

If the players have known this then it can't be the reason they were so shit on saturday. If they had got confirmation then surely they'd have all had a spring in their step and raised their game being so happy he was fucking off.

Disappointed that it looks like he's going to leave under a cloud of speculation and uncertainty, but having read some of the stories that have come out over the last few days it seems like it's impossible for him to continue.
I'm not going to apologise for backing him and I still think Pellegrini might not be the answer but for now it's time to be a bit pragmatic about it all - hope Mancini gets a good send off and hope that whoever the new man is that comes in is made welcome and given a chance to succeed.
It's certainly not been the best week following City but fuck me, on the other foot it's certainly not been the worse.
Good luck for the future Bobby, it's been a good 3 years overall and I appreciate the job you've done.

Those posters saying City should now say something are the same who for the last few weeks insisted City didn't need to say anything, responding to speculation.

If they had briefed this two months, with the promise of a heads-up when the trigger was about to be pulled, we wouldn't be in this mess today.

The lawyers are thrashing out the settlement and hope to hear something tonight.

I take it we'll have to wait until the end of the Spanish season to confirm whether Pellegrini is coming.

Doesn't matter, as long as the objective is realised.

Give it another month and some people will forget about their pain of losing Mancini.

I think it would be highly disrespectful to the supporters and to Mancini himself to just remove him now. What they should do is amicably find a severance package, then put a joint statement on the OS saying that these are Mancini's last two games in charge and lets use them to wish him all the best and thank him for everything he's done for the club.

If they weren't going to sack him as soon as they'd decided he was no longer the guy, then they should find a way to do this where the supporters are happy and Mancini is treated with some respect publicly for the his achievements, irrespective of what the private feelings of the club are.

Absolutely correct....
Wasn't employed to be liked, was employed to win trophies.... he did!
And for that he deserves our praise!

Crossing the rubicon - the point of no return
That's been his "location" for a bloody long time now.
