WTF, if 1 year ago someone told me we were going to sack Mancini I would have been surprised.
If someone then told me we would replace him with a Chilean who hadnt achieved anything in 9 years of top flight management. I would have said "Typical City".

Too much emotion in this decision. Get rid but do it at the right time ffs, not when there isnt the right person to take over, it is absolutely crazy imo, we are replacing thr guy who won us the first prem and has a proven track record with someone who is worse. So sad I could cry :(

Those posters saying City should now say something are the same who for the last few weeks insisted City didn't need to say anything, responding to speculation.

If they had briefed this two months, with the promise of a heads-up when the trigger was about to be pulled, we wouldn't be in this mess today.

The lawyers are thrashing out the settlement and hope to hear something tonight.

I take it we'll have to wait until the end of the Spanish season to confirm whether Pellegrini is coming.

Doesn't matter, as long as the objective is realised.

Give it another month and some people will forget about their pain of losing Mancini.

I wont forget the pain of losing an fa cup final to wigan though which I firmly believe the handling of this affair contributed towards

I said words to this effect not more than a couple of months ago and was roundly lambasted. I hope everything does come out so at least those who abused me will have cause to reflect upon the things they said.

Brennan and Custis were both writing Mancini was going nowhere just recently.

Mancini has made enemies across every facet of the club over the last 12 months.

And his ridicule of Vicky Kloss is a disgrace, especially in front of her at Wembley to a small press contingent, highly embarrassing.

Firstly, she is a blue.

Secondly, she is decent at her job.

She gets told what to say and when to say it, nothing more.

I might not agree with some of City's policy towards the media, but Mancini has pissed on a lot of chips.

The owners have always come across as sensible business chaps,not a scattergun between them,but i think winning the league last year was the beginning of the end, it's been a monkey on the back of roberto and the players from the first whistle against southampton and the more i think about it that performance on saturday painted a thousand pictures and said everything we needed to know,the players have quite simply give up on him!!

This club is about progression,progress this season we havn't and that has cost bobby manc...

If only it were so simple. Since all this broke I have read a lot of very positive stuff about Pellegrini. I was also impressed with Malaga in the CL this season. Add to that a lot of depressing performances form City all season, it's an understandable change for the club to be making at this time.

But City looked superb last season. This season less so. It's very dodgy to judge on one season, or cherry pick the good good seasons from the bad (or vice versa)... in the end you have to look at the overall picture and career success, and overall, Mancini's been more successful.

He (Mancini) clearly has faults, but so does Ferguson / Mourinho / Benitez et al. Our players have faults too - plenty of them, but on average they do pretty well.

For me, Mancini deserves another year to show his mettle. But City don't ask my opinion, they'll do as they wish (as they always have done).

But you knew, we didn't. If stuff was said, it was said out of loyalty to what is dear to us all

Getting to a position of being left with just De Boer or possibly Laudrup. Maybe even Vitor Periera.

Klopp, Ancelotti, Mourinho were pipe dreams and better more attractive jobs are available as Pellegrini could well prove.

I'd take a look at Mazzarri myself, surprised we're never linked. Bring Cavani and Inler with him - job done.

Mazzarri is a brilliant manager, but I'm not sure he's what management is looking for in Bobby's successor. WM will surely get a job at a big club soon (and I truly meant to insult Mr. deLaurentiis)...

To secure Pellegrini will be a very impressive feat.

Especially so, when they have been working 24/7 at some of the players we intend to bring in.
