For those curious, here's the notorious "Desert Rat" post:

<a class="postlink-local" href="http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=121918&p=1961139#p1961139" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">viewtopic.php?f=1&t=121918&p=1961139#p1961139</a>

Who remembers another board member who used to post?
And he's quite right, only Mansour and Khaldoon will have the say on Mancini. Unlike a few posters have portrayed, who believe it's down to the Spaniard's.

Thanks for that.

Our owners have got far more class than to act like Roman and think they know better than the footballing people they employ. Mancini's future will be decided by Txiki and Ferran, with Khaldoun and Sheikh Mansour rubber stamping what decision they make IMO.

It's curious that so many of Bobby's biggest supporters want Sheikh Mansour to act like Roman and hire and fire managers as he sees fit rather than leaving it to the people he's employed to run the club. Wishing for this type of scenario again highlights the insecurity TFB and a few others have. They need to convince themselves that the football people won't be making a call on Mancini's future and that it'll be our benevolent benefactor doing the hiring and firing.

But where your argument falls down is although it will be our Spaniards who for now do the hiring and firing, they too will be under scrutiny from above. As yet, we don't know what plan Sheikh Mansour has for the club, it is either one of immediate success, or one of building for the future from assets within, but if either strategy fails, it will be he, through Khaldoun, who does the firing and it will be the Spanish duo who are fired first.

You might not know, but I'd be very surprised if the Spanish duo don't, hence why they will be the ones who decided on any potential manager for City. All they will require is a rubber stamp from the big man.

I've been sitting on the fence regarding whether mancini should stay or go.. more a inner now since the turn around of results.

We clearly have had problems and mancini deserves one more year at least for reasons being stability but on the flip of the coin we have chelsea who regardless of whether the manager is temporary or permanent keep winning trophies.

I am going to support mancini until the day he goes even if he make me frustated with his decisions. He's not perfect but he's winner and still young so he deserves time and even though Europe has been abysmal I worry patience might run out with ffp issues, since we lost so much money due to early exits.

It bodes well for us this summer either we stick with mancini or start fresh with new manager, philosophy of playing and players either way it win-win for the club and we have to remember it whats best for City and no individual is bigger than that .

What ever the outcome is the future is blueee!

Of course the Spanish two work for Sheikh Mansour and report to him. But they aren't the kind of guys who are going to pitch up at City and then have the owners meddle in the football side of things. There's a reason why Txiki didn't go to work for Roman even though Roman spent a long time chasing him. So to keep it simple, my opinion is that Txiki and Ferran will decide on the futures of players/manager - if they are successful in these decisions they will be at City for a long time to come. If they make mistakes or if they make the wrong decisions and it effects the success of City on the pitch, then they will be held accountable.
