Wasn't Desert Rat Paul Aldridge ? Pretty sure that someone else confirmed that.

Interesting just read his one and only post on the forum - takes me back :)

The point is that AD have and do brief the press regarding the manager. They've done it since they first came in and although the briefs aren't done to address every rumour, they are done at opportune moments or moments of high amounts of perceived pressure (after Arsenal last year, after we missed out on the top 4, Hughes' second summer etc).
