Soriano should walk into Klopp's office tomorrow with a blank cheque. Dortmund's mentality when they went down a goal was unreal.

He does seem like a Mourinho-type revelation in the making. Beautiful football too.

Bit like our mentality under Mancini when we beat QPR, a bit like when we beat an inform West Brom away from home with 10 men, similar to when we clawed back an 8 point deficit to win the league...

Absolutely shades of Mourinho's rise in what Klopp is doing. Just phenomenal.

On a tactical level, Pellegrini came out on top for me.

Klopp plays only one way. Lets see how his tactics work against a possession team that will pressure the defence.

They did well against Madrid although I guess you could argue Madrid aren't a pure possession team. Frankly, the best comparison is Wenger's best Arsenal teams. They'll score more than you, as they showed tonight.

Not sure Pellegrini came out on top. Malaga's keeper made two or three absolutely world class saves. What Pellegrini showed is that he has what it takes to manage at the highest level. What impresses me is that both those teams, playing like that, would beat anyone on their day. Just shows a) money isn't everything b) a team is more than the sum of it's parts.

Fair points, fella. However, you have to take into account that Malaga were missing a first choice centre-half and central midfielder and the two main strikers are a poor Baptista and the much maligned RSC. Malaga are alse slower than we are.He is getting far more out of that squad than he should.

Dortmund were poor tonight. The better team lost.
Tbf it should've been 3 or 4-0 to Dortmund at La Rosaleda. Better team won in the end but you have to feel for Malaga and Pellegrini apparently his dad died this week as well.

If and i say if :) Barca qualify to semi and play Dortmund then Dortmund has no chance against them as you said it's a one way it works in Germany and this year in CL at some level but today no Malaga with all the problems players sold sanchez instead of wellington were near !

For those who watch malaga in la liga will know that this team has this probleme of throwing a lead in last minutes it happened many times !

Sly way to have a go at Mancini. Can't believe the mentality of some people in keeping this thread going. Was the same thing with Malaga, and Pellegrini.

Last night summed the season up for me. Full strength team out, we win. Don't look beyond that. Can we look forward to Chelsea now? And maybe even a Utd draw at Stoke which would really put the cat amongst the pigeons

Agreed, they should have had it sewn up in the first leg but they got out of jail tonight, maybe their name is on the cup.

Definitely agree with that. I think it's been levelled at MP in this very thread that he has it in him to do well with lesser squads. His record points haul with Madrid counted for fuck all because he finished behind the best club side ever.

Either way, if Mancini were to leave or be sacked, either this summer or in years to come, both these guys look like top managers IMO. Klopp in particular, has a certain x factor about him. MP is older, but honestly I used to love watching his Villareal team play and often marvelled at how much they looked like such a pure footballing side as well as an effective one.

Bit difference between beating relegation fighters and CL quarterfinalists.

Just from a football perspective, Dortmund play in a different solar system than us. It's like watching Mourinho's Madrid if they played high on amphetamines.

Forget the Mancini out argument. If Mancini leaves for whatever reason, pay this man anything he wants to come here.

at least if i hear about some managers who have a long history of managing at the top level ect ect but talking like groupies about this klopp who i said is the same was talking rubbish about city is beyond the real

about Mancini he need to learn from his failures and and improve his man management and improve his ability to talk to the press because sometimes it makes him look like a dumb
