Sly way to have a go at Mancini. Can't believe the mentality of some people in keeping this thread going. Was the same thing with Malaga, and Pellegrini.

Last night summed the season up for me. Full strength team out, we win. Don't look beyond that. Can we look forward to Chelsea now? And maybe even a Utd draw at Stoke which would really put the cat amongst the pigeons

at least if i hear about some managers who have a long history of managing at the top level ect ect but talking like groupies about this klopp who i said is the same was talking rubbish about city is beyond the real

about Mancini he need to learn from his failures and and improve his man management and improve his ability to talk to the press because sometimes it makes him look like a dumb
He's not great in front of the media. Not sure he will really care about that. Regarding man management, I think he's just a really demanding stubborn guy who doesn't make allowances for weak behaviour. That can be regarded as a strength. The only time it has proved costly was with Tevez, and oddly that's when almost everyone lauded him for the way he handled the situation

Soriano should walk into Klopp's office tomorrow with a blank cheque. Dortmund's mentality when they went down a goal was unreal.

He does seem like a Mourinho-type revelation in the making. Beautiful football too.

Bit like our mentality under Mancini when we beat QPR, a bit like when we beat an inform West Brom away from home with 10 men, similar to when we clawed back an 8 point deficit to win the league...
Bit difference between beating relegation fighters and CL quarterfinalists.

Just from a football perspective, Dortmund play in a different solar system than us. It's like watching Mourinho's Madrid if they played high on amphetamines.

Forget the Mancini out argument. If Mancini leaves for whatever reason, pay this man anything he wants to come here.

And beating Malaga with a far superior set of players is not comparable to clawing back an 8 point lead against a local rival who have been hoovering up titles for fun.

Dortmund do play some stellar football but I cannot see a PL team able to reproduce that kind of football on a weekly basis in the league, simply because the league is arduous.

You have to remember that Dortmund still have that surprise element in Europe. One day a team will suss them out. Other teams will see what works and implement it. Dortmund will then need to make changes. Let's see how Klopp deals with that when it happens.

It´s not that simple....

With respect mate, Arsenal's unbeaten league winning squad would disagree. Dortmund maybe lack the physical presence of that side, but that's about putting together a squad which carries the balance between technical and physical in particular for the PL. Also they significantly lack depth which has caused them big problems in the league.

Overall, I think you do Klopp a bit of a disservice. Two Bundesliga titles on the bounce, including one setting a new league record for points. He's followed those two up with a CL semi final. All with a squad which lets face it, cost a pittance compared to the big four in England or the big two in Spain, or that matter the German rags. Credit where it's due, and that man deserves an awful lot IMO.

It could be done in the PL but you'd need to make maximum use of your 25 man squad (+ youngsters who don't need registering) over the course of the season. Right now we're very reliant on our first 14-16 names and would suffer badly as players like Sinclair and Kolarov just aren't good enough to maintain the sort of level we saw yesterday, just like Dortmund themselves keep suffering on at least one front (said it before but a huge % of their dropped points in the Bundesliga have come right before or after CL games).

BTW...

They looked tired tonight and got out of jail, they didn't seem to have the usual zip about their play?

Maybe the intensity of their play through the season is taking it's toll?

That's exactly what it is, they have a serious lack of squad depth although Leitner is a very good prospect. They have burned out a lot of their star players and I don't think any of them were at their best tonight, only a final burst made them avoid a big upset defeat. They apparently plan to spend quite a bit this summer, they have to or they will be left behind by Bayern.
