Been away for a few weeks but...

Mancini got everything spot on last night...Team,tactics etc.

Well done Roberto Mancini....Fingers crossed he is here for a long long time.

Great feeling getting up today.
I have too. This website was bringing me down, pissing me off and making me think our 'supporters' had turned into wankers. How a week off Bluemoon refreshes things, eh?!

People will still bring shit up, they'll still try and bring the mood down, they'll do their best not to enjoy something or try and push their agenda onto others sapping their enjoyment from things too. But fuck em, I'm well happy!

I think he just chats too much shit to the press

so does every other manager out there. But for some they have a PR dept. that works and prevents some a-holes from asking certain questions before an interview/conference. Take that Cooper twunt for instance, how he is still getting into the conferences is unbelievable after all the snide and bile questions and remarks he makes in the press conferences.

Leave it out lad(ie)s, tonight of all nights. BS, FI, OB, DD, GUDG aren't gonna change their mind overnight over one win, however belting a win it was. They have been complimentary, but would still rather see someone else next season. IMHO it is a forlorn hope, but that is how it is. Moomba, BK, GdB and all the others who are behind Mancini, like myself, will enjoy it all the same. Tonight this thread just seems like a bit of a pointless exercise all round. More than usual.

You are right, I for one am not going to change my views overnight and, TBH, I genuinely expected to win last night.

I'm not going to keep explaining my position - as opposed to trying to debate the issues - but let me try and make it very clear, once again, I like Bobby - a lot - and if he proves that my view that, on balance, the end of this season would be a good time for him to move on, I will be absolutely delighted.

Dominating the Rags as we did last night raises just as many questions as it answers but I'm still enjoying the fact that City took a blow torch to United's forthcoming title win and removed a whole load of gloss.

I was also delighted to hear that the Glazers are having to raise a whole load more debt to buy the Swamp back from its new owner, one Yaya Toure.

Party on, dudes.

Golly Gosh I have had to go on page 2 of the Index to find the Thread :-)

With "The Tactics" thread long gone and the post match thread a bit of a celebration I just want to discuss last nights tactics and what people's views were.

A lot of time on this thread has been spent "dissing" the Manager's tactics and substitutions and I think a lot of that time it has been unfair. The most recent examples being the horrendous defeat at Southampton and are annual defeat at Goodison.

In the Saints game, I think we can all agree the whole side was dire but I noticed that when he brought Kolorov on the Team as a whole seemed to man up and we began to stretch them and get at them for a bit even though the Game was long gone. With the Everton game I thought that since they seem to have a measure on our standard game and in view of the injuries we had at the time that he was justified in at least attempting 3 at the Back.

Tell me if I am wrong as I am certainly no tactics expert but last night it looked to me that Yaya was playing further back than Barry to negate the threat of Rooney and especially the strong running of Wellbeck. Barry meanwhile got in the faces of Carrick and Giggs and in a slightly more advanced role hit the Ball into the feet of Silva,Nasri,Tevez in a much quicker fashion than we see with Yaya's languid style. I dont think we have seen it before and it worked a treat.

I make no great claims for my tactical awareness and, quite frankly, I often get caught up in just watching the game; especially a tense Derby.

I think we have seen Barry do that sort of role recently but not sure if that was alongside Garcia.

It was noticeable that Barry got on the ball a lot more in the opposing half than his own, whilst Yaya did have plenty of touches in his own half.

Couldn't say if Yaya was sitting deeper specifically to counter Rooney. I thin part of the reason may have been that you can give him the ball when he is being pressed and he will usually retain possession and can muscle his way out of trouble if closed down quickly.

A lot of people don't seem too keen on Yaya sat back there but I like him in that role; albeit he can occasionally be a bit too languid defensively and I do recall cursing him for that at one point.

Yaya and Barry owned the midfield though last night.

What I did like was that we went back to 4-2-3-1 and kept a good shape. Nasri, who gets a lot of stick was very disciplined in working back on his flank as was Milner but you expect nothing less from Jimmy.
