Mancini - Doing a fine job, nevermind talk of Mourinho

What I find more ludicrous is that some fans seem to be turning their nose at the thought of Mourinho coming. Mourinho: two european cups, league title in 3 different countries., averages at least two cups a season, over 9 years unbeaten home record, Wenger and Moyes already hate him and he isn't even 50 yet. Mancini might be doing an ok job but its a no contest when you compare them. Fans are right to be annoyed at some of the games this season. Just ask yourself would Mourinho have lost at home to Blackburn? Would Mourinho have lost to Everton at home? Would Mourinho have lost last year against Tottenham? Would Mourinho have been beat two nill by Kyiv?

I could go on all day about how in every department Mourinho is better but you get the gist

It interests me that you mention Wenger and Moyes because they're two Managers who've been at their Clubs and provided relative stability for many seasons. Mourinho has no similar record in that respect. He goes from Club to Club to Club. I can't see ANYTHING to suggest that Mourinho would settle at City and not move to Germany or the International scene within 2 seasons.

That's my number one concern with him. And my only one, too.

Or he'll piss off to the Swamp, like a twat.

I hear the move is agreeable with Baconface. If Mourinho came here first then it'll never happen - but once Liverpool's title record has been beaten then Baconface might step down and give his blessing to Special Jose.

Some people are suggesting that even if we get dumped out of both cups and don't qualify for the CL,they'd still be happy to give RM more time to get things right. I honestly can't see the Sheikh seeing it like that. It is just a job afterall, targets are set out and expectations are made.

It's a very fine line between a disastrous season and a phenomenal season, it could go either way.

I'll wait until the end before deciding whether he's done a good job or not this season.

It is a VERY fine line, isn't it? Good call. It was the same last season, when it revolved around that Spuds game and narrowly missing out to Hamburg.

Exactly. They were ruthless as can be with Hughes and they'll do the same with Mancini if he doesn't deliver.

This is probably the kind of thread that needs to happen when the season finishes!

A fair point made by OP,

Mancini is doing a god job and everyone needs a reality check! What does the manager need to do to gain the respect of the majority of fans?

Like the OP said 3rd in the league and in two cups

Come on City !
I think the majority are right behind him mate, you here the fans sing his name at least 3 times a game.
The forum has a few really articulate posters who debate the reasons why they want rid and a lot of knobs who overreact when we get beat.

I wasn't pleased when Hughes went and I wont be pleased if they got rid of Bobby, back to square one if we did.

This is the most telling thing for me. I'm struggling to think of any other PL manager that currently gets his name sung out as much during games as Mancini, yet when you come on here you'll think the world is falling apart.

so from january our trajectory has been....

down.

how many replays have we had? how many league points have we dropped? are we ahead against Kyiv, did we smash Aris like we should be doing?

How many shite performances have we put in one after the fucking other.

sorry if you're happy with how we're going then you have no aspirations for our club, simple as, otherwise you'd be concerned about how shit we've been over the last 3 months.

I find this shite from Mourinho quite annoying. It was about this time last season when he last started with this gobbiness. Then again, Rob Shepherd is a Walter Mitty type when it comes to Mourinho and I wouldn't believe the Lord's Prayer out of him.

Hamburg wasn't last season, was it?

Or am I losing track of time..?
