Mancini Has Failed

Mancini has done a great job for us under difficult circumstances.

When he arrived some, not all of the players were not behind him, Bellamy, Given etc... meeting with Gary Cooke to voice there concern's over his appointment and Huhge's sacking. He made big decission's earlier moving out Robiniho and the unrest that came with him.

He managed to gel the squad and get them playing for him after a difficult start. In January he was only allowed to bring in Viera on a free, and Johnson. For some reason he was not given proper funds to strengthen and help secure the Champion's League spot.

I think that we need to get behind Mancini, let him do his business in the closed season, I am sure that there are some players that he has inherited that he will ship out and some that he will already of identified to bring in, then and only then can we judge Mancini.

Fine line as always. Nobody expected Spurs to beat Arsenal and Chelsea.

We lost with seconds left against United and in my opinion that meant we needed to win at Arsenal and didn't even muster a shot on target.

One point from two crucial matches against their six. Mancini does want to win all games but at times he sets his stall out in an over-cautious manner - clean sheet and see if we can nick one.

Blackburn and Wigan have beaten Arsenal and they were there for the taking.

Last night Spurs were only going to play one way and that should have suited us to get agressive with them and go for it in the first 20/30 mins.

I believe that Spurs were always confident they could get a result from this game. They have an excellent record against us at City in recent years an we just can't seem to deliver in the really big game when it really matters.

OK Times and Targets have changed...Dont know how long you been following City, and what is the Annual Rollercoaster Ride that is being a City Fan, take that away and I am not sure what we would be left with.

YES Gutted we did not make Champions League, but is that or should that not just be reserved for Champions, after all that is what it is called.

Remember the Old Days, when only Champions Qualified for what was known as "The European Cup"...the next 3 clubs went into the UEFA Cup......which is exactly where we are now.

I would love us to qualify for the Champions League as Champions !! - and if we can progress the way we are doing, then why couldn't we !!

Rembember it wasn't long ago when we were celebrating Qualifying for Europe the Fair Play League.....!!

I have followed city all my 48 Years, and have seen everything, Good, Bad, Brilliant, Really Bad, and absolute Shocking......Personally I would be elated if we get 5th Spot this seasn, and learn/progress next term.....A Far Cry from those Dark Dark Days of League 2 and beyond.

Only Pissed that I had to get up at 3 am in Perth to watch it.

Best Wishes to All Blues

Nico

ok then hgblue, if mancini is a failure, (a fucking failure after 5 months YCNMIU), then lets have a look at your suggestions shall we

mourinho : wouldnt touch us with his dogs dick.

o'neill : decent manager but anyone who buys emile heskey is a bee short of a picnic IMO.

moyes : yeah decent manager but so far up fergies arse you can only see his feet.

wenger : how long has this guy been trying to win the premiership with arsenal? (he wouldnt leave them anyway).

summary : mancini has not failed, he's been given a vastly overpriced squad bought by someone else and dragged them to the verge of a CL place. if any one failed its hughes, that man should be hung, drawn and quartered for spending that sort of money on santa cruz and lescott.

The club let Mancini down by not letting him address the lack of balance in the team in January. How we were left with a squad which had 1 central midfielder who can pass, having spent so much money (and he has been either injured or in poor form all season), I don't know, presumably Mark fucking Hughes would be able to give us an answer. I think Mancini has done a very decent job by keeping us in the race for 4th because to be honest, he took over a team that looked like it was sliding towards mid-table to me.

Please let us keep Mancini for another season.Lets take a leaf out of the rags book, they we're on the verge of sacking bacon face, they didn't.The rest is history.

Hughes had two pre seasons. He spent over 200 million. And yet he failed to sort out the midfield. He wasted money on RSC and Lescott both players with serious injury concerns. Toure and Bridge past their best.

Mancini will address these issues this summer. We have the nucleus of a great team. Kompany, Tevez, de Jong, Given, Hart, Johnson, Bellamy, Adebayor, Barry and some talented youngsters coming through.

I don't understand how fans can keep up this Mancini is a cautious manager charge when he plays AJ, Bellamy, Tevez and Adebayor all in the same team.

OK they are not always effective, but that's possibly because some of them are played out of position.

Sometimes its better to have an extra midfielder at the expense of a forward so that you can control possession and get the ball to the remaining forwards. Problem was exacerbated last night because Barry got injured and we had to use Vieira as a straight swap instead of supplementing midfield.

the reason they are sometimes in effective is because mark hughes never bought a good . ball player in mid field. tevez is having to drop very deep to pick the ball up from where we should have someone slotting the ball through for the strikers.

Mark Hughes was sacked and Mancini was brought in because the club's leadership decided to re-evaluate their aim for the season, Mancini was brought in to help City break the top four. In this respect Mancini has failed.

I didn't believe that Hughes should have been replaced by Mancini not because i was a deluded happy clapper but for the simple reason that i don't believe changing managers like your socks achieves anything. I've been underwhelmed by Mancini this season, espcially with his ultra-cautious approach but i think it would be suicide to get rid of him. I just hope that for once in City's recent history City decide to give a manager a decent run at things. For novelty value as much an anything else.
