Mancini haters: bad news - he is going nowhere.

Personally, I think Mancini is the real deal and he will have us playing fantastic football and will move us forward significantly this season.

But I keep reading comments like he will get the sack if he doesn't achieve xyz.

Well, barring a scandal involving incest with the Pope, I can see no scenario where Mancini will not be our manager next season.

Our owners got rid of Hughes because (a) he wasn't their man, (b) he was demonstrably out of his depth and (c) because he had no track record of success to suggest it could be worth sticking it out.

None of this applies to Mancini. Plus, you only have to listen to our Chairman's interview at the end of last season: adug are in it for the long term and accept that building will take time. Of course they are optimistic that city will be in the honours this season - well all are. But just as they shrugged off the disappointment after the spurs game last season, if we were to under perform I would expect exactly the same this season.

Bottom line is Mancini is going nowhere, now let's get behind him and the team and give them our 100% support!

Mancini will get sacked if we don't finish 4th this season. Whether that's right or wrong is debatable, but there's no question in my mind that the owners will take the view that anything less than 4th is abject failure and not good enough...

TBH I agree. Who wouldn't be a little peeved if you had given someone £130 Million to spend and there was no sign of progress.

These manager discussions really are rubbish. Full of agenda, cliche and very little gorunding in actual reality.

It helps people choose what side of the fence they want to sit on before the mudslinging commences in ernest...;- )

Once he gets his full personnel and a big number of games with said personnel, only then can he be judged as our manager. Right now his system isn't in effect and the lack of two good full-backs shouldn't be overlooked, as Lescott and Micah have the joint attacking threat of a fly and are not Mancini's first choices (well I hope Boateng is penciled in for RB!). The forward problem is purely bad luck, surely one of Adebayor and Balotelli will be playing with Tevez when his system is finalized? The only thing I think Mancini deserves criticism for right now is the lack of playing time for Silva. He can't adjust to the league with 10 minutes here, 15 minutes there.

So lets get this straight. Mancini is perfect, has made no mistakes, his team selections have been above reproach, his tactics flawless, his man management exemplary, and transfer dealings second to none, and anyone who disagrees is to be labelled a hater? I do wish people would grow up and accept that people hold different opinions, and are entitled to express them in good faith without being attacked or vilified.

I agree with this - although I've said before that Mancini will more pissed off than anyone if we don't make at least 4th and have a serious challenge in one of the Cups. This is his first job in English Football following some serious reputation building in Italy. He's not here to mess around.

We so nearly made 4th last season and he was only in charge for half of it. Anything below that isn't acceptable on the back of that Squad.

I'd fucking love some silverware.

How dare you come on here & be so positive!!!

Great post!

Lets keep the positivity alive.

God, it feels so good and so much better than all the general bollox I've read on here tonight!!

An interesting interpretation of the OP I must say.

- but you'd suppose with the caveat that we have someone suitable (better) to replace him too...

it's always possible in football that you lose your manager before the end of the season for reasons that are difficult to foresee ahead of time; like for example if Manciti was found out to be a key player in the Hatton ring, whilst also being instrumental (or rather suspected) in cheating the Sheik's brother out of $5,000 in a grain deal - you know, this sort of thing.

footballing matters only, if I had to stake my money on matters I'd back him to still be our leader in 2012, although I don't have a 100% record on my sports betting, ehehe

Mancini is their man and i'd fully expect them to back him, even if disastrously we finish out of the top 4.
I still feel we'll get 4th spot but i also feel that Chelsea, Arsenal and Utd will be very difficult to beat in the final league placing, Chelsea are a very strong side and Utd and Arsenal are not going backwards as some on here would have you think.

The rags just blew four points in two aways-yesterday in comic fashion.
They also had Giggs,Neville,Scholes and VDS in the starting line up....every one over 35,and in the case of VDS,almost 40.
They are £700+million in debt.

And they seriously aren't going backwards?
