I'm happy with this appointment.

Mancini's a winner as a manager and as importantly he's going to work with the best Premier League assistant anyone could have.

Was this a done deal a few weeks ago? I don't think so.
My reasoning being, Zabba and Weiss both signed contract extensions last week. If a new man was imminently going to be appointed, surely these contract extensions would have been put on the back burner until the new man was in place.

Yes
This was all about the owners putting in a wad more cash this jan...mancini (more than any other AVAILABLE manager) will make the players come and Kidd will keep the show on the go. This could be very very good... top four a cert!!!

Mancini is a NO for me.

Can anybody on this forum say they honestly believe he is the board's first choice. Or even second choice. Let's face it if Hiddink or Mourinho had been up for it Mancini would not have had a sniff. Replacing Hughes has been a "typical City" knee-jerk reaction to a disappointing run of draws.

Why has Mancini not been offered or accepted a job in the EIGHTEEN MONTHS he's been out of work?

Why do the club refer to him as a hugely experienced manager when he only has four seasons of management under his belt and in a league that couldn't be more different from the one we have in England?

Didn't most of his titles at Inter coincide with Juventus - the reigning champions - being demoted and their nearest other rivals - Milan - having points docked?

Too many questions hanging over this guy.

I wish him luck but can't see him lasting even as long as Hughes did.

Depressingly familiar story.

sacking him yesterday, proves no matter what the owners say about top 6 being satisfactory, they only have eyes for top 4, and they want it this season!!
I disagree with that. Do you honestly think we were on track to finish above Spurs this season? What about Villa or Liverpool? If your answer, like mine, is "hell no", then that means no top 6. The owners saw the writing on the wall during the 1 from 10 stretch. If this (i.e. the way we were playing) was allowed to go on, top 6 would've been a pipe dream in the blink of an eye.

The only stability we had going was the stable expectation of poor performances. Stability is overrated.

How do you know Mancini hadn't been offered a job?
Are you aware of the legal situation with Inter?
How many Trophies has Mancini won?
How many Trophies has Hughes won?
How many of the biggest clubs in the world has Mancini managed?
How many has Hughes managed?

It's very obvious to anyone who isn't wearing welsh tinted glasses that Mancini is much better qualified to manage us than Hughes was. We have swapped a Fiesta for a Ferrari.

I think we should run this same poll at the end of January and see what we think when he's had a month in charge. I know where I think the support will be.

Mancini is City manager and as City fan I wish him all the best. However I disappointed that Hughes has got the sack, he wasn't perfect by a long shot but I don't think 6th a semi final and two defeats in 16 Premier League games is a bad record.

The problem is that so many people wanted Hughes replaced no matter what that you would have preferred anyone in charge and that's who we have got.

I would be interested to hear from a Hughes outer who would have preferred to keep Hughes now that he knows who the replacement is.....you must be out there?!!
