Mancini in or out? *Update first page*

Re: Mancini in or out?

out for me,after all we spent were struggling to get 4th which for me is ridiculous,he seems a broken man and we are easily the most boring team in the prem. i do want him to stay in a way cos i like him as a person and if i cud id wish hed be the one to bring us success but i doubt he will, guy looks lost,a resounding out for me

Re: Mancini in or out?

in, if he gets 4th or 3rd. Everyones expecting too much from him!

Re: Mancini in or out?

In.

Can't believe this is even being discussed. Some of our fans, dear me it's ridiculous.

Re: Mancini in or out?

I can't make my mind up. He seems to be moving us in the right direction but he is so negative in the big games. We gave Scum and Chelsea too much respect.
With the exception of Silva and to a lesser extent Yaya his buys have been disappointing. The core of the side are all players that were here when he joined (Hart, Kompany, NDJ, Tevez). Boateng, Kolarov and Balotelli have done nothing to warrant their price tags.
For the sake of stability and the fact he can get us CL football then I want him to stay I'm just not too sure he can deliver the ultimate prize(s).

Quick question or two: do you not think the three teams above us are better? By that I mean, used to winning (been that way for years too), used to the pressure, amount of games, keeping these levels of fitness up? I just think we have a long way to go before we have that in our team.

Re: Mancini in or out?

In. We have progressed under Mancini from the straight line, kick and rush rubbish under Hughes.

To those waiting for JM. Can you honestly see Mourinho managing us in the Europa league? Therefore our ability to attract Mourinho next season depends on Mancini achieving his top 4 target.

emmmmm...hmmm,united are better lets be honest in terms of over a season, arsenal,no i dont think so,chelsea i would have said a resounding yes at the start of the season but not now,its not the position were in that im mostly complaining about, its just the way we are progressing and i honestly see very little progress in our team since mancini joined bar becoming the most negative team in the land, its horrible to watch,i wasnt a hughes fan but i think he could have done the exact same job as mancini with these players,if he finishes 4th then il shut my mouth and say well done to him but i dont think hell bring us any further than that the following year.

i just fear that this season will end up the exact same as last yr,as i said i like the man more than any of our previous managers in terms of personality but in terms of management im not a fan,i supported him up until about xmas but since then iv wanted him out if we dont finish 4th

Re: Mancini in or out?

In till the end of the season obviously.

Then depends on whether we have finished Top 4 or not. That was always the target he has/ had to achieve.

5th and only the FA Cup might save his ass.

IN without any doubt, we are building for greatness and it will happen and Mancini is putting in the foundations.

Getting the mentality right - starting to happen
Strong defence - without a doubt - look at the goals against column

With a couple of further additions the expansive stuff will start to develop over the next couople of seasons.

It ain't been great since the new year.

Wolves 3, Leicester 2, Leicester 2, united 2, Birmingham 2, Kiev 2, Chelsea 2

And that's despite playing negative football since then.

I've done this analysis before but for your benefit:

Leicester - from a corner 1 st minute, 2nd Joe Hart mistake
Wolves 1st goal mix up, 2nd Penalty, 3rd from a corner
Leicester 1st Goal penalty, 2nd goal deflection off the ref and offside
United 1st beaten in open play 2nd Well what can you do !?
Birmingham 1st direct off a free kick 2nd Penalty
Kiev - yep two goals from open play
Chelsea 1st Free kick 2nd in injury time game was over

So yes we've conceded goals in those games but I would say only 3 are goals wher you could actually say our defense has been opened up.

The other goals were penalties and free kicks, so you could argue that we need to tighten up from set plays but fundamentally our defence is solid with teh second best defence in the prem behind Chelsea.

Mancini is building the team properly and putting in solid foundations which gives us a string platform to build. Everyone knows that you build a team from the back.

Mate, there is building from the back and then there is Mancini's philosophy.
Can't he trust his great keeper, good defends and great defensive mid to do the defensive job without the others?
Fair enough shore up the defense but to neglect the attack is killing us.
