Mancini interviewed by Micah

Kind of surprised him and Micah get on tbh, I always got the impression he didn't fancy him much because he didn't seem serious enough. Then again, Roy Keane loves him so clearly he's just too much fun to dislike, even if he really shouldn't be someone you get on with.

He'll always be a fond memory, as he was perfect for that time at the club. Probably the most fun couple of years I've had as a City fan, an emotional manager for an emotional time. Transitioned us from Mark Hughes aimless joke club to battle hardened title winners. (then fell out with everyone and pretty much did his best to destroy what he'd built, but still) I reckon we timed it perfectly with him, got him at the exact right time, then let him go at the exact right time. He lifted us up about 5 levels, then we moved him on before he could drag us down a bit with his fallings out. Pellegrini was able to then come in and just right the ship by being nice, then sail off into the sunset and let Pep come in and complete the squad turnover and move onto the next phase of the project. In hindsight, reckon it went about as well as it ever could have, barring Pep agreeing to come a year earlier.
In our title winning season under Bobby, Micah was our main right back. He started 29 Prem games that season.

Bobby turned us into what we’ve become today… winners!

To be fair to Hughes, he had us doing well at times. We started to take it to Arsenal under him, and stood toe-to-toe with United a number of times. He just couldn’t get us consistent enough. For every game we raised it and looked as good as the top sides, we also looked bloody awful against others especially those down the bottom.

What Bobby brought to us was a winning mentality. Games stopped being things we hoped to win, they became things we must win and we should win, and drawing and especially losing are not good enough for this football club. A mentality where you don’t just raise your game against the big sides, you have that raised level at all times, in training all week and no matter who we play. That’s the mentality of winners.

He took us back to being a big club for the first time in decades. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest that he fell out with people, or wasn’t very nice to them full stop, and left under a bit of a cloud… I think his attitude is what made us winners, and if he needed to upset a few people along the way to finally rid us of anything that was still lingering at this club from the Swales era, then so be it. You don’t wipe a losers mentality away without being a ruthless personality.

We wouldn’t be what we are today without Bobby. I still absolutely love the man!

Love the guy. To reiterate what many have said he gave us the mentality to get where we are these days. His attitude was absolutely spot on, you’re not in football to be nice, you’re here to win.

Pretty certain he has too much class, ability and self-respect as well as respect for City to consider managing that shithouse outfit in Trafford.

Wouldn’t swap Pep for Bobby for a gold clock but no City manager, including Pep, has meant more to me than the fiery little Italian bastard.
He literally dragged the entire club to new heights, forming a bond with the fans that will never be erased.
Nothing we have now would’ve been possible without him.
Wouldn’t want him to return because you should never go back but he was, is, and always will be a true hero of the club. Never understood the hate for him from some city fans.

Love Bobby Manc. With each year that passes from 2012, if always gets a bit more sentimental. That year was special for me personally. 10 years though. How fast that has gone.

Love the picture with the 4 of them. The way Bob is looking at Richards.

I can see him turning up at Newcastle, I think it would be another love affair and he is an idea manager for them, a winner and great talent spotter.

My favourite manager. I think quite a few of us (myself included) got banned fir a few years from here due to our vociferous support. Fortunately most of the absolute noodles have moved on to podcasts or some other such nonsense (please fucking stay there). Will always be a legend in my eyes.

Been thinking the same myself; would prefer him to be at that ‘utd’ than the other lot!

Love Mancini, will always be grateful for what he did for us - especially when he called the GPC out in the derby at ours!

The calling out of the bullying Ferguson is why as a fan base we will always hold Mancini in the highest regard, it was long overdue and without doubt started the decline of the old fool and his beloved club.

Pep is a magnificent manager, the best of his generation and probably one of the greatest ever, but Mancini for me is twice the man in personality and a man we can all relate to.
