Mancini on his team selection and The Carling Cup:

Saturday is more important????

Why the fuck is Saturday more important? The very real prospect of losing to Chelsea will not impact our seasons targets. A loss to Chelsea now will only serve to make Mancinci look a cock. Just like a win will not alter our sesaon that much either....it's not the results against the top sides that matter, if you beat everyone else (Sunderland and Balckburn, Roberto) you will be in the hunt.

Losing to WBA finishes our involvement in a cup competition we could have won. Mancini, do you not want to win trophies? If not, fuck off.

course it will impact our season because what if we miss out on 3rd place by 2 points? or what if we miss out on 4th by 2 points?

we need 3 points in our next 2 games more than a win tonight

Why would you expect us to lose to Chelsea?!

Err, because that are better than us all over the pitch?

I don't agree that he had to play so many youngsters. The back four have a handful of senior appearances behind them and mostly down to Boyata. Surely they need to be led by an experienced centre back. At least keep your spine with a CB and centre midfielder that can lead the rest.

In fairness to Mancini I think he could have expected more from the £40m+ of strikers on the pitch. But I wished he'd taken the Hughes approach and thought the League Cup was worth winning. Easiest one for us and we're out again. the rags will now go and walk it or someone like Stoke or Wigan will get to Wembley.

Which of their games this season have you seen this, furthermore, they were better than us last year and we beat them twice. We've got home advantage and I'd expect us to at least draw. We're a better side on paper that Sunderland and judging by your remarks I'm guessing you know what happened there.

Your talking CL qualifaction...I want trophies.

CL qualifiction is bollocks. Firstly, we will not win the CL, secondly, we won't even sell out for the Juve game (effectively a CL match)...why embarass ourselves further...?

-- Thu Sep 23, 2010 1:43 am --

He has never said 'I do not want to win trophies'. Save your ranting for if and when that happens.

You can remove if...

I disagree with the bold sentence.

We nearly got to the final last season because we played a strong team in every round.

Every trophy is important...we haven't won one for 35 years, we have to go all guns blazing in EVERY competition.

Spot on. I'm fuming having just got in after watching that abomination of a performance tonight.

I just wish Mancini had let the fans know of his intentions and I wouldn't have wasted half a day off work and £100 to watch it.

I have no problem with Mancini having contempt for his players... but I take issue when he shows contempt for the supporters.

And that's what he did tonight.
