'Young and learning' was your expression. Put that together with 'proven manager' and you have a contradiction in terms. It's a desperate attempt at defending the indefensible.
What I can't understand is the reason why you and the others are taking Mancini's side, when you can see exactly what we see, an under-performing group of players. Inspiration comes from good managers.
I am not normally a 'manager out' type of fan; I never joined in the attack on Hughes, apart from criticisms of his defence, but Mancini's failure is screaming at us and I just hope that our owners, who are not stupid men, will take the appropriate action asap.
We all want stability, but that desire should not control our opinions.

So how do you explain such a 'great' manager as Fergie taking his Man United team from 2nd to 11th then 13th ? Was Fergie bringing out the 'worst' out of good players or was he just in a transitional period of trying to build a championship winning side ?

Hang on, the "few disaffected players" line was trotted out last season, and he was allowed to get rid of some quality players. Same in Jan when he shed more.

And still a significant number of the first team, and I'll throw in the backroom staff, don't like or respect him.

He's the problem, not the players. He had his chance to purge them and get his own men in and onside. He's blown it.

So you suggest the very definition of insanity, repeating the the same thing and expecting a different result?

Getting a new man in will in no way guarantee us not to be in the same postion next year as this.

Remeber back to Hughes , we had the same problems with dissaffected players then. Players who didn't like his aloofness and squad discipline , Elano , Dunne etc
