wait until the end of the fucking season.

if he gets 4th its mission accomplished.

sign a few more players in the summer, let him have another crack. and i will guarantee we will be a lot stronger next season.

hes a proven manager. ok hes got a few games wrong this season but he's still young and learning. we let this man go and we will regret it i tell you.

the only way id replace him is if mourinho becomes available. but otherwise lets give him at least 2 (only fucking 2) full seasons.

chopping and changing doesn't work.

Make your mind up! Is he young and learning or is he a proven manager. He can't be both.
In two full seasons he would kill this Club. His arrogance and stubbornness prevent him from making progress.

he's both.

yes he is young and naive at times. but he has proven he can be a successful manager by winning trophies. whats so difficult to understand about that?

Mancini's name was being screamed in exultation at the start of the Liverpool game!

remember pearce's team? we expected to beat notts co, leicester, reading, bolton/stoke and to give utd a game.

top 4? hughes was sacked for not being on target for top 4, so the owners pretty much said that we had a squad good enough for top 4, added to that £130m, 18 months worth of time and chelsea and liverpool both having their mini self destructions, we are still in the same postition battling it out for 4th.

Anyone who follows us home and away and pays good money to watch us, knows mancini is not the man for us.

Makes interesting reading this so thought I'd add my thoughts
For what it's worth Mancini could be a tactical genius
But it appears players r just not with him like in
Any business they need to get on the same path if not
Surely his tenure it dOomed in they don't buy into him
Then the players rnt going to go that extra mile
Just look at daglish at liverpool those players
Would do anything for daglish as his man management
Is excellent in my opinion surely that's 90 % of the
Battle will the board back him over this ? I'm just not
Sure

If Mancini secures a Champion's League place then he will be here next season.

Everyone knows that.

I cant believe some of our fans. During a win we're all singing his name etc and applauding his decisions yet after a loss everyone jumps on his back and calls for him to be fired.
Can you not just stick by a manager for once, we are in the FA cup semi final and have a very real chance of getting 4th or 3rd what is wrong with that??

That can't be correct.

We've had posters on here the last couple of days assuring us that it's the negativity tumbling down from the terraces that is holding us back, it's the out and out criticisms of Mancini that is forcing him to change his way of working.

That just doesn't sound all that negative, to be honest, now does it?

But to be fair, I've not missed a home game all season, and even though I have never once heard any chant directed at Mancini criticising him, supposedly it's all the fans' fault whenever we lose games!

I am not deaf mate. It was quite clearly sang at the start of the Liverpool match.

well this place has changed after the sunderland game thats for sure.

I found Mancini's admittance that the 5-0 scoreline surprised him to speak volumes about his lack of desire to attack and take Teams apart.

If our present shower do finish 4th then there's no need to replace him. He's easily earned more time by giving City their highest ever Premiership finish.

I don't know that.

I think and I hope if he scrapes us over the line he'll go anyway. "personal reasons" I expect. Then he'll rock up at Juve.

This! The manager merri-go-round has to stop in order to bring some stability to our club. We have the finances and the ambition all we need is some effin patience!

I've sat on the fence in regards to Mancini in the past, but i'm pretty much on the out bandwagon now.

We are not utalising our top quality players to their right potential. Don't get me wrong, when we are switched on, we play some of the best football i've seen being a blue. But in to many instances we haven't been switched on at all, and had no second plan. His substitutions at times have been quite odd and he truely is not making the best out of our players.

Time is the question? How much time do we give him to get it right? Win or lose come Saturday, or end up in 4th place, i still feel we won't move much forward as a team the following season. I would still give him til the end of the season regardless of my opinion, it wouldn't help the team into the run in.

Thankfully football forums are about opinions and this is mine. I think the only other suitable candidates with this type of squad would be Jose, Van Gaal or Hiddink.

Regardless, however much time it takes, we will be winning things and the glory days would have arrived.

Constant progress isn't an unreasonable ask. Mancini needs to meet his targets (4th this season, 3rd / a pot next season) in order to warrant being employed by Manchester City.

Sarcasm's not your bag is it?

It would be interesting to know which 50% hate Mancini. And which ones of those hated Hughes, and hated Sven etc etc.

I agree, Mancini has obviously made mistakes with his intended team selection and tactics.

However , I'm not sure what you are aluding to in stating that half the team hate his guts. Surely a manager / player realtionship is based on mutual respect and the belief in each other abilities.

Are you saying that Mancini has alienated the squad due to his insitance on rigid tactics and not allowing players to express themselves freely?

The manager has to be backed if this is the situation, whats to say that another manager would not alienate the other 50% of the squad, do we keep churning the squad for the next 10 years until we get the manager/player blend correct?

It is my belief that the board will give Mancini their backing , with the result of the disaffected being show the door. We are not in the position of a Big Club where a winning cluture is ingrained despite the regular turnover of managers.

We still hope to win rather than that it being expected.

There is no belief in his abilities, a respect for his workings, that's the whole point.

People can lament about formations, signings, the price of fish.

Footballers are a precious bunch, they need to 'buy in' to their managers.

Mancini's man-management is rarely seen as an issue, but it is a pivotal one in the weeks ahead.

A couple of posters disregarded compliments last week about Mancini perhaps 'bending' in terms of the meal out.

It starts with mutual respect, then players are more pliable.

This seems to be a carbon copy of the England sqaud situation at the world cup last year.

Initially the England players enjoyed the new strict regime compared to the laissez-faire attitude under Sven and Mclaren. This all chnaged when faced with an extended period with Cappello and his aloof unbending ways

I have read many times that this is the Italian model for football management, which surely the club knew when appointing Mancini?

The players will eventually bend to Mancini's ways or be shown the door.

You seem (as do many) to advocate the dispensing of a manager at the behest of a few disaffected players?

Lets play the long (and smart) game for a change and allow the manager time to develop the squad as he sees fit.

The same people calling for the managers head here, will be doing so with the next guy after a few unexpected results...

Hate is such a strong word.

Does any criticism of the manager make someone a hater? Or are there shades of hate?

Or is using an emotive term like hate a good way of deflecting the discussion?

So many questions...

Surprised as in when Redknapp left Portsmouth to go to Tottenham or when you bump in to someone famous in Tesco?!

No, what I'm saying is that Mancini appears to have no desire to attack teams and entertain. Just this overtly cautious, defensive style to ensure City never lose. It worked against Spurs and Arsenal but not against Chelsea.
