Regardless of the question of whether he should go or not. Saying there's no-one to replace him is a non argument.

Klopp, Simeone, Bielsa, Moyes, Laudrup, Mourinho, Conte and many more.

Think the city owners have suffered the consequences for not being ruthless enough last summer, but Mancini's tactics both in the league and in the CL haven't been great this year. Its an under-performance and if he does lose his job, he cant argue.

That said I expect a big change in pretty much everything this summer, whether he stays or not. Need to weed out some of the passengers

So one/two of those are clearly better on paper than Mancini was when he joined and the rest are a list of managers who could just as easily be the subject of this thread in a years time.

1. Average manager.
2. Tactically inept against teams on level par/better than us/cause any sort of threat
3. Poor at man-management, one of the worse i've seen.
4. Finally been found out.
5. Not as good as what some think.

The last 8 months of my opinion on him, were all rolled into 90 minutes today.

he's been found out, he's out his depth.

Gone in the summer, bring in a tactician who understands the basis knowledge of free flowing football, and were back on track.

Moving onto the next level now, Mancini has had his contribution. No longer good enough or anywhere near good enough to take us further.

Thanks for everything.

Not an over reaction, no knee jerk, just REALISTIC.

You could say that about Mourinho this season also

Re: Mancini out?

When he does get the chop, which top clubs do you think will be after his signature?

Do you believe the Rags would have him as Bacons successor? or Madrid,as Jose's?

The City chief admitted the champions now face a massive uphill battle if they are to bring the silverware back to the Etihad Stadium in May.

“I think that now it is very difficult,” conceded Mancini.

“I always used to be optimistic and I want to be in this moment, but it is difficult.

“Twelve points is a big gap if Manchester United win tomorrow. It will be hard to come back if we continue to play like this.”

With some key players missing for the trip to Saint Mary's and skipper Vincent Kompany not yet fully recovered, it was never going to be an easy task on the south coast.

But, the Italian was adamant that his players simply should have done better.

“We didn’t play today. We had some players that didn’t play, it was not a good performance,” he said.

“Southampton played better than us, but we conceded two goals that a team like us can’t concede. I’ve never seen us concede goals in this way.

“The performance was really, really poor with many players – I think we played this game with two or three men.

“Three against eleven was very difficult; I am really disappointed with my players.”

Although eleven members of the City squad were on international duty mid-week, Mancini would not allow this to be used an excuse for his side’s below par showing.

“It’s not an excuse, but it is important because we had five or six players that only got back on Friday and we played on Saturday.

“It is really difficult when this happens, but in the end we played really bad.”

Endearing himself to his squad to the very end i see........

Maybe a bit longer than 8 months FFS. It was only last season we won he league and the season before that the FA Cup. Now, - If you were an Arsenal fan I'd have some sympathy with your comment....
he has gone as far as he can... need someone to take us to the next level... dead man walking im afraid to say... thanks forever for what he has done but new man needed, blow everyone out of the water with transfers in the summer, and start winning trophies year after year like we should be doing now

We moan about Mancini wanting RVP and De Rossi then demand the next manager "blows everyone out of the water on transfers"
dont you mean we was moaning because we never got them two... i certainly wanted them...!!!

Ffs it's a loss. They happen.
That they do. As City fans, we're used to them down the years. However, it's the apparent''couldn't be arsed'' attitude of the players and the seeming lack of ideas on how to change things from Mancini that angers me. Fans are prepared to overlook a lot of faults in a player if he's getting stuck in and is ''having a go''. But honestly Bill; how many out there tonight were doing that? I don't think you'll need the fingers on your second hand to count them. Indeed, two or three fingers less on your first hand wouldn't hinder the count. It was a shamefully apathetic performance tonight.

Italian in racism shocker.......... do one you clown.
eermm whats racist about any of that?

Maybe you should follow Mancio posts closer LOL. He always blame the English players but Mario and Bobby are untouchable.

here you are right , it was clearly mario's fault today's hart and barry performance

Re: Mancini out?

am i the only one though who thinks the players should always try to do their best, the lack of effort, half arsed attitudes on people who earn more in a week than some of us do in 5 years is ridiculous,

Mancini should go, but the players shown themselves up tonight, and i feel sorry for roberto as a result.
