End of the day, no matter who you want to replace Mancini, apart from Mouriniho (who most wouldn't want)

Laughable comment. Half a dozen loudmouths on this forum do represent "most".

The overwhelming majority of City fans, if Mancini went, would love Mourinho in charge and would have him as their number one choice.

Dave i've mentioned this before, i go in a minibus everyweek with the same 8 guys, now while i know we're not talking for everyone, not 1, not 1 of us wants him. In fact none of us want Mancini replacing..

Now while that may not sit nicely with your view of the situation, it shows that it isn't the overwhelming majority who do want him.

Mate,i think hearing his name getting sang to the rafters every match kinda kills dave theory.

I'm not saying one way or t'other if that's true but how do you know this?

The same way he knows that liverpool are still in the cup..

I'm a bit the same, sometimes it seems it's only here that there is this desperation for Jose and desperation for change.

I think there still is a bit of ill feeling toward Jose amongst the supporters, I suspect we'd all get over it if he was to ever join but there definitely isn't the feeling that we need Jose from anyone I know.

So you think only 6 posters on here dont want mourinho?

And on another note i would say the majority of bluemoon and the majority of city fans want mancini to stay, and only half a dozen loudmouths on here want him gone.

Well lets start from right here.. I will go first..

I WANT BOB TO STAY !!

I didn't say the majority of city fans want Mancini to go. I said if he went I believe the overwhelming majority would want mourinho as his replacement. Only my opinion of course

Well imo, if Mancini went, he'd be behind the likes of Klopp, Guardiola, Simeone with most of the fans.

If Mancini went i'll back whoever comes in and trust the current board to make the right decision for the club...

I doubt the majority of city fans know who Simeone is.

Exactly what I was thinking.

those who say we should keep Mancini as he has won trophies wherever he has gone and so is proven but then say they don't want Mourinho can only be saying this as they dont like him as a bloke not cos they don't think he will win trophies. so i guess its what each individual wants a winner or a nice bloke
im unsure about what i want with regards Mancini, im one of those who thinks that a hell of a lot of managers would of come in with that money and won us a cup but feel some would of been doing better, also if we keep Mancini for the next 5 years im sure we will win a few more under him so i don't know if im being greedy or very eager for City to achieve the maximum

Not true.

I'm not sure on Mourinho purely because Chelsea and Inter have not been left with the foundations for continued success when he left, Chelsea have been there or there abouts but the turnover of players has been quite high and Inter are in the shit.

Also because I find Real Madrid's attitude to the league this season highly unprofessional and it in part has to come down to Jose and I would not be prepared to gamble CL success by throwing away the league, I'd expect to be fiercely competitive in both every season if I was a Real Madrid fan.

From an outside perspective, that's similar to how I view the whole Mancini/City tenure.

Tbf, the 4 or 5 regular match going blue mates I have all have faith in Mancini and don't want him gone.

The way I look at Mancini's time at City, I ask myself whether Mourinho would have won what Mancini has so far, with the money that's been spent. My answer is 100% yes.

I then ask whether he'd have won more and done better in Europe. My answer is 100% yes again.

I'll never criticise any of the City fans in wanting Mancini to stay, particularly as he has played as much a part of where you are today as the players have. On the flipside, however, I will also be of the opinion that Mourinho is a much better manager and that he'd have emulated everything Mancini has done in his time at City, at an absolute minimum, but probably done a little bit more.

This is also what brings me to the conclusion that I think the reason some City fans dont want Mourinho is, in the main, down to a personal grievance or to some extent, a sense of loyalty towards Mancini, and not for purely footballing reasons.

Just ask yourself if the rags would welcome Jose turning up at city and you will get your answer.

not sure about that as he did win the league last season beating what many think is the best team ever to do it, wouldnt say he is throwing away the league just not able to top Barca twice on the run, not to unlike City last season and this only they are still in the champions league also

Maybe but you can't argue against the job he's done over there plus he'd fit in nicely with our Argie contingent :0)

If Mancini left to be replaced by Mourinho, I'm absolutely certain that Jose would have the vast majority of City supporters eating out of his hand in short order.

Nevermind that ... as I've said repeatedly, those who don't like Mourinho because of his character but laud Mancini are either being disingenuous, or don't actually watch or listen to anything which Mancini does. The entire argument against Mourinho from the vast majority seems to be premised on the idea that he's of questionable character and would therefore bring shame on our owners. To say it's ridiculous and not rooted in anything approaching reality is an understatement.

Without a shadow of doubt.

Bobs biggest fans could become Jose biggest critics, Dave and Billy could take a well earned rest from playing the pantomime villains and the world will continue to revolve, just has it has always done ;-)
