No, I am now 24. My username doesn't update year upon year.

Not to give it the old 'i'm a bigger fan than you routine' but I have been a season ticket holder for a number of years, I was back in Maine Road. I wasn't there at York, but I was there in Div2, at the play off final etc etc etc. I am not a new fan, and new to City if that is what you are suggesting with reference to my age? If you aren't, then fine. I am sure you were there then too, but just because you are older than me, doesn't necessarily mean your opinions are more important, or indeed 'truer to fact' than mine.

And by failing all year, I mean I don't think he has got the best out of the team. I think, almost to a man, the players haven't performed to their peaks. When it's a few players underperforming then thats fine- that's to be expected. When it's more than a few, you have to question the manager, rightly or wrongly.

You shouldn't have to justify your "blueness" or age, mate.

I'm 43 and have followed City home and away, 30 games a season, for 36 years.

Many of the people, maybe even the majority, on this thread who are hoping for change are of a similar profile. But it's irrelevant. Age doesn't bring wisdom when it comes to football.

SHB, mate, make your points, fight your corner but if you start going down the "our fans have become spoilt" route you have no credibility in my eyes I'm afraid.

Dave-All blues are equals IMO however many are acting like spoilt kids not getting what they want.3 trophies in 3 yrs is something I could only have dreamed of a few yrs ago...

The question was asked "Are we happy"....

Fucking Damn right I am....We are exactly where I thought we would be 3 yrs in and winning the FA Cup and finishing top 4 is good enough this season (hopefully 2nd)...

-- Thu Feb 21, 2013 2:28 pm --

Not read Tolmies posts mate-Enlighten me

What?

That's the whole point if today's impassioned discussion. Go back to 8.00am this morning and follow the discussion from there.

To be fair I've read tolmie's comments as saying Mourinho has contacted us saying he wants the job and that no one knows how txiki has reacted.
That not the same thing as suggesting txiki now things a change is necessary

Exactly

SHB,you're sounding a bit desperate mate.

You rate Mancini as you seem happy with his limitations, however, many of us believe we should have progressed further.

Mourhino could do that imo, exciting times, this bit of hope has certainly lifted my mood.

Desperate?? I am just amused by all of this and I will say it again. To have a thread of this length IMO about Mancini is just embarassing

Alex, Jose won like 4-5 trophies with Inter.

People look further down the line than this season too. Mancini has peaked imo.

You bemoan his fortune in Europe yet don't consider his reign at Inter.

He made the quarters in the CL (which we'd accept next season to build on) and won three consecutive titles. He's a hugely successful young manager - and whether he's peaked or not is up for discussion.

I think he could take us forward if backed. I think Jose could too but could dismantle our current team in favour of his own clique. Anyone other than those two is a risk not worth taking. I do worry Jose's siege mentality trick is waning.

Whichever side of the fence you fall you can be proud as a city fan to attract managers at that level.

He also said that Duncan Castle's story in The Times that we've sounded out Pellegrini and Klopp was true. Castles has also said several times now that Mancini is a goner this summer, regardless, although I don't think TH comfirmed this.

I said yesterday and I stand by it.

The Barca ethos needs to be put on the back burner for 2-3 years and we need to be dragged kicking and screaming in to the European elite.

Only then will the academy be churning out the talent we all hope for and only then can Ferran and Txiki bring a coach in and start turning us in to a Barca clone.

Only one man for the next phase :-)

Said pretty much the same in the Moyes thread. It's not the time for experimentation, we don't have a big name and repuation like Barcelona to fall back on should we fail. The academy is nowhere near ready either. If Mancini isn't the man for the next step, now is the time for someone like Mourinho.

He was sacked because he 'failed' to do well in Europe.

As I've already said, the best opinion of managers Mancini and Jose is the guy that employed both. He says Jose is better.

There's literally fuck all to argue.

C.Vs are night and day different and Moratti states clearly that Jose is better. People can view things as they please but the facts do not lie.

People are shooting from the hip here. Little accuracy and people should look through the sights. Sense over sentiment.

Mancini has fucked up this season. No biggie, the problem is the future. Are the board happy to see us keep fucking up in Europe? Are big players willing to stick around whilst Mancini finds his feet?

I'm with St Helens on this one. It is really embarassing.

We are 2nd in the league and in the quarter final of the FA CUP? Get him out! get him out right now!!! If that wasn't bad enough we are reigning Premier League champions and he always took the FA cup for us.

The people like this are not just a thorn in the game of football but a thorn in society.

As bad as the Arsenal fans calling Wenger a twat and a moron. Have some patience you pathetic child minded brats.

It did appear that you are generalising all fans under a certain age as being 'spoilt kids'. Infact you said it, it seems to be the younger generation who want trophies every year, or something along those lines.

Also our first season in Europe wasn't a fuck up, we were really unlucky. Even Munich away the first 15 minutes we play really well and should of had a pen. Napoli away we were poor granted.

This season was a shocker but it was a very hard group, if you aren't willing to give Mancini a third crack at Europe what's wrong with you? With a bit of luck we will do well in Europe.

Spoilt has got nothing to do with it and nor has lack patience: I've been supporting City for longer than you boys have lived and had a season ticket throughout most of the time that you have. It's all about wanting what is best for the club.

Never once since I have been on this forum have I ever said one blue is better than the next in fact I have always supported the clubs vision that we need more support young, female, overseas etc.
I will await your apology
