Mancini - Out of his depth

Great attitude Mancini, just the way to inspire more belief in your team

but they worked for this in the past.

He's correct. They are the best team at the moment and they are probably going to win the prem as a result of the hard work they have put in in the past. He also says our players are not worse than the chelsea players and we have a strong team but we have a problem at the moment that we have important players injured.

He's completely correct and to pretend otherwise would be ridiculous.

They are going to win the league if they are lucky with injuiries,

Tomorow they will play with cole ivanovic terry and alex tomorow. Look at the rest of their defenders ferreira, bruma, aanholt and zirkhov

Their midfield will be essien mikael and ramires, after that they have lampard, benayoon and mcearchan.

Their attack is frogba anelka and malouda, then they have kalou, kakuta and borini.

Look at their squad and after their first 11, how many top players do they have?

I don't think there's any doubt we have more strength in depth than them.

I'm not sure their "best 11" is that much better than our "best 11" when all fully fit, either.

But he's right that they are a strong and physical unit.

And now compare it to our squad. Then consider their recent achievements with much of that squad and the time they have been playing together.

No one is saying they definitely will win anything. No one is saying we wont. Mancini even said we couldn't compete in 4 competitions but we can in 3 so he's not conceded the prem as some are saying but he is offering a realistic perspective.

My point is they have been extrmly lucky with injuries last season and if they get few injuries they would suffer more than any top team in this country. Look at the injuries city has and imagine if chelsea had similar injuries, they would suffer big time. Thats one of the reason why I dont believe they will win it this season

I think my favorite part of this forum is when people compare their jobs to that of a footballers.

I'd also like to add that its also my LEAST favorite thing about this forum. ;O)

He might have done, but the key players had been at Liverpool for a few years. The bulk of the team at Inter had been together for 3 or 4 years and they had been winning together for 3 or 4 years before Mourinho added Milito, Eto'o, Sneijder and Lucio to the team.

Your argument seems hinged on the fact that he didn't win the CL, which is odd because it's ignoring the fact that he won the league 3 times and the Italian Cup 4 times. Would you not settle for that over the next 4 years at City, or is that not good enough?

It's an "odd" argument when I relay a fact? Mancini has failed in Europe as a Manager despite getting it right in the League?

I bet you £500 that City won't win the Premiership 3 times and either the FA or Carling Cup 4 times within the next 4 years. Are you up for it?

One of the biggest mistakes he's made is giving Patrick Vieira a contract I feel embarrassed watching him....His legs had gone 5 years ago when wenger got rid of him... another is not off loading Rocky Santa Cruz and his treatment of Shay Given is a disgrace...He played Given on weds and then stuck 4 youth team players in front of him...and that hill at the training ground is like something out of 1950's..ffs

This is Walter Smith's record

Rangers

* Scottish Premier League (9): 1990–91, 1991–92, 1992–93, 1993–94, 1994–95, 1995–96, 1996–97, 2008–09, 2009–10
* Scottish Cup (5): 1991–92, 1992–93, 1995–96, 2007–08, 2008–09
* Scottish League Cup (5): 1992–93, 1993–94, 1996–97, 2007–08, 2009–10

Scotland

* Kirin Cup (1): 2006

A fantastic record, but would you want him as City manager?
No, but the SPL is very different to Serie A. In all my life, i don't think i've ever seen anybody other than Rangers or Celtic finish outside of the top 2. The gap between those two teams and the rest of the league is quite astonishing.

In Italy you have a great number of very good teams (yes even today), and Mancini brought success to a team who hadn't won anything for 15 years.

It's not really comparable.

Hmmmmm you look a little silly bearing in mind he's only managed in Italy and the league over here is completely different yet he doesn't seem to realise this. Playing the Italian way over here will win nothing
