I don't disagree with you. Mancini has taken the club as far as he can in my view. This season has been a disaster - we've gone backwards. Humbled by Villa in the cup, had our pants pulled down in Europe, timid league performances and another spineless performance in an FA CUP FINAL at Wembley. Considering the money spent and team we have = rubbish.yatesy94 said:Warning - Pissed off City fan who attended the game today, sat in the Gods.
No questions time to go Roberto. Still can't believe some fans still want him here all in the name of "stability". Fuck me people need to open their eyes. The football we have been playing the past year or so has been overly-cautious and stagnant it's unacceptable considering quality of players we have at this club, and today to go out in a prestigious cup final and get utterly torn apart by a relegated threatened side speaks volumes. Personally, I feel the squad would benefit from a bit of change. We've been found out numerous occasions this year and Mancini's tactics have been baffling to say the least (Tevez off for Rodwell?) and our owners/fans deserve better.
Pellegrini in please for the time being as a stopgap and then in Klopp or Pep if he fancies the challenge 3 or 4 years down the line as a potential long-term replacement.
The impetus and swagger from last season has vanished and you can only blame the manager when wondering where it has gone. Too many slackers, not enough motivation. I struggle to name one convincing, 'won at a canter' performance this season whereas I could name 5+ mesmerising performances last season. That's worrying. It saddens me to hear Zaba talking publicly about "no passion" after the final. For City fans to then delude themselves and defend Mancini is well... wanting to deny the truth.
Re. Pellegrini - he is a top manager. What he did at Villarreal was like something off Football Manager. Most of all he's a motivator - something which Mancini is clearly not as the lethargic season has proved. Not to mention his Champions League record is no accident - he a master when it comes to tactics and pulling in one direction. It's a punt worth taking and I think it's already been decided. Txiki is a long-term admirer of Pellegrini.
I think the Southampton match was a big turning point for Mancini's future. That was the worst performance in years.
