Mancini sat with Falcao's agent

If Mancini doesn't feel we need another striker, why did he want Van Persie so badly and why is he now interested in Jovetic and/or Falcao? Or is our manager who works with the team every day wrong? I simply think he wants one of the most clinical strikers in the world - Van Persie and Falcao fit the description while in addition to his versatility Jovetic is becoming more and more prolific and I can see him reaching Van Persie level sooner rather than later.

This is part of the problem. Mancini gets passes from City fans with the excuse that he "didn't get the players he wanted", where in reality, he shouldn't need a FIFTH striker in the squad to successfully manage it in the first place. City's is one of the best, deepest, and most diverse striker forces in world football. Wanting to add to it even more is just excess and greed.

Van Persie was as much to stop Rags having him as it would be good to have him in the team.

It's same with Chelsea and Falcao.

We don't really need new strikers at this moment but we'd certainly add some great one if circumstances would go in our favor + I can see at least 2 of Dzeko/Balotelli/Tevez somewhere else in 2014/15 season.

So - Falcao or RVP are not extremely needed at this moment but they will be soon so you are supposed to buy such players if you can even if it is a year too early.

So Falcao will be more than happy to come to City and be a part of a 5-person striker rotation for at least a year, right?

Fat chance

There is just no way of us being able to accommodate him as well as keeping him happy.

Chelsea are the better viable option if you were in his shoes, title challengers, play every game, no rotation policy, fat pay cheque, live in London.

We would have to get rid of both Balotelli and Dzeko if we are to guarantee him, it is just not happening in my opinion.

What happens if we don't make it out of the Champions League group stage? We definately won't have any chance in January then.

I can see it sort of happening if it was next Summer, Mancini might want to do some big changes to freshen everything up in the striking department and getting rid of a few players may happen, Falcao might be an option then. Plus, what if Atletico still have a look in for the title come January, they want at the very least a Champions League spot come May, and with Malaga on their backs Atletico might persuade him to stay until Summer, if they lose him they will struggle.

It's excess and greed to want to improve your squad? Alright.

To improve the squad in the absolute last place it needs improving? Yes, it is.

You can't miss the chance to sign one of the best players in the world, his goalscoring record phenomenal similar to Ronaldo. Tevez will be leaving in two years while Dzeko and Balo are just too inconsistent, if we can sell them two and sign Falcao its not greed its logical, less rotation, less wages and we then have three very consistent/proven strikers with Guidetti as back up maybe to replace Tevez when he leaves in the near future.
