Mancini Thread (no City stuff)

Re: Mancini @ Galatasary Thread (no City stuff)

Damocles - spot on with that post. Still can't understand why the tail wags the dog where football is concerned. Employees unhappy with the attitude of a successful manager - yep, I'm sure a FTSE 100 company would get rid of the manager!

I would not like it one bit, he would be backed and nobody there is as loud and stubborn as he is on the playing squad.
Rio if still there would get fucked off sharpish for a starters.

i think he would shake them back up to a top team again, not like under bacon as that probably will never happen again with modern dynamics of the game.
He will bring them back and put some steel into them, no i would not want them getting a manager as good as him, no fucking way.

Worry not. It is a non-starter for a million reasons.

I would agree with you 100% on that Pam.

on the rest, I think of Manciti as being driven, and whilst not perfect, as Damo says above, he is a winning machine and a man who (in his own way) pays attention to the details as he sees them... he doesn't cut corners and is single-minded in his pursuit for perfection; a hard task master - which of course is why he gets results, although he is young, and can always improve

;o)

But .... but .... but ..., what about the sensibilities of the kit man? He was traumatized every time Bobby didn't say good morning to him.

Bad career move from Bob, clearly not the manager we once thought he was.

And yet he's going to win ANOTHER trophy.

He's exactly the manager I always thought he was. A man that by hook or by crook wins trophies. It's that simple. He isn't holistic, he isn't respectful of tradition, he isn't a man who suffers fools or what he perceives to be lack of effort. He's a man who wins trophies, plain and simple.

In every season as a professional manager from his first full year at Fiorentina until this year, he was won at least one trophy (presuming he also wins the Turkish FA Cup but considering they've already twatted the side in the Final it's a safe bet).
The only exception to that was last season.

One season out of 15 or so he had a full year he has failed to win a trophy. Only Mourinho and Guardiola have anywhere near comparable records to Mancini in world football yet he is still constantly disrespected like the guy is David Moyes' reserve team manager.

As I said in the Pellegrini thread, trophies talk and bullshit walks. I'm sure Frank De Boer is a lovely bloke and I'm sure that Brendan Rodgers is wonderfully holistic. But neither of them have anywhere near the record of Mancini. Because Mancini, unlike other managers with excellent PR representatives who manage the spin to be seen a certain way, or those who have one off seasons now and again and are the flavour of the month like Michael Laudrup, just wins trophies.

It's as simple as that. He's a trophy winning machine. He'll do it in England with tons of money. He'll do it in Italy at bankrupt clubs. He'll do it in Turkey when the ultras never wanted him to begin with. He'll do it whenever the next person decides they want a trophy too.

Bang on!

You've just earned yourself a small round of applause, chez trim.

Is it coincidence that he appears to have lost another dressing room?
Why would a manager who is still lauded on here as the greatest thing since sliced bread lose another group of decent players?
Sentiment doesn't come into my opinion, he did a wonderful job for us but he's gone and we move on like he has, I personally don't think he'll be in turkey next season......italy beckons.
Where's that come from mate as I cannot find anything to support it?

In fairness mate, this gem comes from the same poster who claimed that a Turkish Super Lig that has produced four different winners in the last five years was a two horse race, so I'd take his input on all matters football-related with a pinch of salt.
Or rather half of Northwich.
Ok, fuck it - make it all of Siberia.

I think he'd go there on he opening day of the season with all the hype of a good season ahead and put a banner on the centre circle saying "MANCHESTER IS BLUE!" and he'd run out of Old Trafford never to be seen there again.

He may have fallen out with a lot of people at City but he does and always will love us fans.

-- Mon Apr 21, 2014 3:37 pm --

I'd be happy. That means they won't hire someone like Klopp. And it would be his ego against Rooney, RVP, Fergie and the rest of that entitled mob. Wait until he throws his first fit about not being able to spend money, the conflict with the Glazers would be hilarious.

Someone once described him as a chequebook manager, and that fits him perfectly. He'll take the biggest spending club in the league and give them one domestic trophy per season. Forget about Europe, it's hopeless.
